2009 •2009-08-08 (Gorge Amphitheatre, George, WA) •2009-08-07 (Gorge Amphitheatre, George, WA) 1999 •1999-09-11 (Gorge Amphitheatre, George, WA) •1999-09-10 (Gorge Amphitheatre, George, WA) I attended those shows. Many of you have only experienced a Sasquatch campground. A Phish campground is pretty crazy. Picture 18,000 people trying to sell their crafts to the 400 people who brought cash.

If we're still thinking Foo (or lesser than) level headliners here, there are a few other unformentioned possibilities I wouldn't completely rule out: Incubus - new album in the works, but no current plans of a tour. A Perfect Circle - Just played reunion shows in the US last year and said they would be back to tour this year. Alice In Chains - Not likely, they just finished a headlining trek. More likely than Green Day though. John Butler Trio - Just to shut any DMB style lovers up Silverchair - Again, not likely, but the festival could use a shocker like this. Bush - I wouldn't support it, but they have a comeback album in the making and played a SoCal festival late last year. Smashing Pumpkins - I've got nothing, but they are still actively making music, aren't they? Jimmy Eat World - Maybe not headliner worthy, but definitely sub. Flight Of The Conchords - Just wishing it would be true since the last two-night stint here sold out fairly quick Some "Oh God No!" possibilities. I thought you said you were not a troll? Zero chance any of those headline. I saw Incubus at the Gorge, but unfortunately forgot my pillow. Having seen Alice in Chains recently, I can honestly say it was the worst show I've ever seen.

I had a feeling there would be some heads turning about my mentioning of Silverchair. Lol. They should have stopped making music in '99. Still they somehow manage to sell out shows when they seldomly come.
...and I agree "coffee and cigarettes" is a terrible song. Invented isn't half bad for an album though.

Why are you even TALKING about Linkin Park being at sasquatch? That'd be like having talking about Nickelback possibly being at sasquatch. Hardly. Linkin Park have made two albums worth of attempts to try and be considered alternative rock and are on altrock radio... And the even shittier band, Nickelback... Sadly people have created more ties between them and confirmed headliners, The Foo Fighters, than with Linkin Park. Bottom line. Foo Fighters=great. Linkin Park=Not so great. Nickelback=The worst band in the world.

Flight Of The Conchords have headlined a Monday before? And why not A Perfect Circle? They would easily draw in the money these corporate festivals seek. Maybe Incubus is boring live now, but I haven't seen them live since 2002 and they were amazing then. Judging from that show, they wouldn't have required a pillow any more than Radiohead would. LOADS of slow songs there. I can see your point with AIC. You either love them or hate them now. But atleast its a better idea than the idiot who suggested Sublime.

So happy I could share my fresh ideas with some civil and rational adults on here. Naysayers, where's your lists? Think you can do better? I've seen the same bands listed throughout this entire thread. They aren't bad bands by any means, but it would be nice for the sake of entertaining conversation, if you could spice the guess list up a bit.

Flight Of The Conchords have headlined a Monday before? Sure didn't, they played at like 3 in the afternoon when they played (although maybe you're thinking of the sub pop fest at marymoor where they headlined sunday?).

Nickelback=the closest you can come to being gay without actually blowing another dude. Walk me through this one here Hancho, please. I take it you're not giving Nickleback high praise here, as in Nickleback=AWFUL. I really hope dragging an entire minority down in the mud and looking unabashedly homophobic at the expense of some "lame dude joke" was worth it. Cool, COOL 27 YEAR OLD! Before I'm tempted to really throw it down here perhaps I will take a second to offer you some needed enlightenment By calling something you feel is stupid, dumb, lame or whatever "gay", you are purposely relating the word "gay" to absolutely negative connotations. Hence, Gay=Stupid,lame,dumb... Unfortunately our sensitivity and understanding of minorities can be so dismal that this sentiment often goes unchecked and brutally dismissed as "oh it's just a word"(of course said the dumb ignorant dude who is not gay nor has never been teased, bullied, humiliated or assaulted for being nothing other than himself) These continued sentiments reinforce shame and negativity to the word gay. They also victimize and demean gay people, like it or not it is a form of homophobia. So please, don't get defensive with me (and make me further explain the necessity of why insecure young males feel the need to continually participate in this behavior), just ask yourself "Is this something I want to be a part of?". I hope your answers "No" my man.

No. I knew exactly where you where going and I realized how much I just fucked up when I read that quote. Honestly, I have nothing against gay people. In fact, I have gay friends. I apologize and will edit that post. I admit that there is no excuse for my carelessness there. The tale behind this is an expression I heard from someone at work talking about Smashing Pumpkins. I thought it was kind of amusing... but I also think white (yes, I'm white) jokes are humorous so it is easy for me to dismiss the word "gay" as something lame without thinking of somebody getting hurt. Again I am sorry if somebody got offended.

I declined the entire list, as in, "no possibility." Could you maybe elaborate more on this? I atleast thought that A Perfect Circle would be in the realistic range. They would be a smart choice. Just saying. I'm also curious what everybody's supporting points are on why they think my list is shit. Saying that I am a troll is not a valid argument. HG, I can expect to hear from you on this, but atleast you might have some arguing points other than the typical "I don't like them" answer. Everybody thinks they are a music expert. Back it up.

could anyone actually envision Murder by Death playing at Sasquatch? I feel that they play a style of music that would be well received, although they still manage to lie beneath the indie mainstream despite having an active touring schedule and constantly releasing music. Also, they are not currently booked in April or May.

I'd love Murder By Death to be there. They fit the vibe I think.
Okkervil River's new album comes out May 10. Possibly increases their chances of playing.

Shit... I can't modify the above post anymore on my phone. Some "Oh God No!" possibilities: Linkin Park - Insane to even remotely think of, I know. More unlikely than even Green Day. That being said, their new shit is currently on heavy rotation at all local alt-rock stations. One known station to house many of Sasquatch's Bands, 107.7 The End comes to mind. Snow Patrol - please, no. Personally, there are some artists from my first post I would put in here as well, but these are all just random guesses to add to the ever increasing pot of possible headliners. I seriously thought the list of bands in the FIRST of these two posts were the Oh God No list.

On [checking] yeah, any of those. Flight of the Conchords broke up, I believe. For one thing. The rest of those bands, dude that's like the 1997 H.O.R.D.E. tour. Not one of those bands is headliner caliber anymore. Generally at Sasquatch, you get ONE radio friendly mid- to late-90's band. They play at 3:00pm on the mainstage on Sunday (TMBG, Presidents). Sometimes you'll get one closing out the Wookie stage, like the Breeders in '08, but lately even that slot has been going to hot-shit-of-the-moment indie bands like of Montreal. I could see A Perfect Circle playing late afternoon on the mainstage except that Maynerd would never fucking play while the sun was still out, especially at a place like Sasquatch. In fact I bet that dude wouldn't come within a hundred miles of Sasquatch unless it involved a huge paycheck for a TOOL set. I'll say right now that you will not be allowed to gloat if one or two of those bands actually gets booked, because it won't be anything but an unfortunate coincidence.
