Tallest Man on Earth? What does he have to do with fake psych/dance bullshit bands exploiting a trend a la Empire of the Sun and Edward Sharp? I will break it down for you: Jet is to (shamelessly) cashing in on the garage trend with frat boy gusto as EOTS and ES are to being purpousely douchy bands exploiting the "hippy" image with frat boy gusto Tallest Man on Earth? Quadruple fail Biff

We have discussed which band pulls the Passion Pit, playing the second stage one year, and a later set on the main stage the next. The Local Natives were mentioned, but I would add Mumford & Sons. I can see them playing an evening set on the main stage next year.

get out of my head dude. i was literally going to say exactly what you just said haha. i could see local natives bringing a good crowd for a 3-4pm-ish slot and mumford tearing the house down with a 5-6pm-ish set

Mumford and Sons sounds plausible. I think Chromeo has a good shot for the slot as well.

This one is a little out of left field, but Bon Iver's drummer has an album coming out tomorrow under the name "S. Carey." The music is pretty much right along the same lines as Bon Iver's sound and depending on how well it's marketed/received I could see him holding down an early to mid-day slot on the Yeti stage.

I might go one further though, Mumford & Sons could snatch a 7pm slot on the main stage, and bring in a huge crowd.

Some forty-seven year old bar hag went apeshit last night when a Mumford & Sons song came on the radio. I see big things in their future. Not being sarcastic.

And an interesting idea, maybe that tour Weezer is trying to do where they go to a city and play all of Blue Album one night and Pinkerton one night (I have a feeling everyone on this board is either highly against or highly for this idea) Easy on the Weezer talk. You're going to wake interstateeight from the dead mentioning them as a possibility.

Weezer and Coheed should headline every night of every year at Sasquatch.

it might be worth noting that interpol is skipping seattle on their upcoming world tour despite them being on the west coast for a couple shows in california, then again the tour ends in december so it still might be way too soon to mean anything

Since this is based on zero education, I would like to see some of these bands from London come out.

Like Malkmus said while talking shit about Sasquatch at a recent Pavement show, Sasquatch is geared toward little kids. He is partly right. Most bands that play the festival started in the last 20 years, with a couple 80s bands. There are very few exceptions in the history of the festival (The Cure, anyone else?). You'll get your Lou Reed, Leonard Cohen, Eagles, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, Willie Nelson, etc., at the larger festivals in the US, or the festivals that appeal to the older crowd, but unless the lineup takes drastic changes in the next couple years, a band from the 60s seems extremely unlikely. I wrote a couple paragraphs about how Malkmus hates Sasquatch here: (it is near the bottom of the review). knowidyuh.blogspot.com/2010/09/live-review-pavementquasi.html

Yeah, (being a diehard Pavement fan myself), I loved the review of the Pave show. I have to admit, you pegged why I loved their Sasquatch set. When I saw them at Pitchfork (you think you saw too many hipsters at YOUR show), they were almost a little too clean. It almost felt sterile. We'll see what happens next week in New York.
