FUCK! FUCK! I thought that I had everything worked out to a T...then they drop Wale and add Brad! They are playing pretty much alongside Portugal. The Man, the one band I have grown to love since the line up dropped! Now here's my thing...
Has anyone seen both bands, and if so please let me know which one would be a better choice to see! Not a massive fan of Brad's music but it's Stone Gossard and Pearl Jam is my favorite band of all time (I know they're different) and it'd be cool to see a side project of theirs. But at the same time Portugal. The Man are awesome on disc but not sure about their live set. Any suggestions?

P THE MAN. they only do killer shows. i've seen them three times and they are probably still my number one band to see. once you see them live you understand why they are so great.

Portugal, The Man are a must see, definitely one of those bands that have steller albums and a live show that only makes them sound even bigger and better.

OK Go vs. Patrick Watson vs. Patton Oswalt Patton Oswalt's shows are fantastic live. If you listen to 222 (the extended/unedited version of feelin' kinda patton), it's a pretty good indication. I was fortunate enough to see him at that same 40 watt club that the cd was recorded at, and he definitely lived up to expectations. I'm pretty much choosing him even though I really wanted to live out all my high school dreams of getting to see OK Go live. And that was a difficult thing to get over. (I know nothing about Patrick Watson, and don't really want to learn anything because that would just make my personal decision that much more difficult and heartbreaking.) Pavement vs. Dirty Projectors This is my biggest conflict (my 2 favorite bands here this year), and my 2 cents for this: Dirty Projectors will most likely be around a while. It's been said in interviews that this will be Pavement's only reunion tour, and that after this, Pavement will no longer be active (though interviews with Spiral Stairs are starting to say otherwise). So, I would say Pavement just due to the fact that this may be your only chance to see them ever.

The National vs. Hold Steady vs. Why? I would national for the first 45 (or all of it if it's awesome for you) and catch the 45 or 30 of the end of the hold steady. You don't need an hour of the hold steady to let it sink in. Dirty Projectors are so talented it is unreal. My friend saw took my tickets when i couldn't go last year and was astonished. I wouldn't leave their set early. Don't miss Dr. Dog. I promise you won't be disappointed. I think I'm just going to go ahead and just take all that advice. Thank you.

My roommate said to stop giving advice or all our shows are going to be crowded haha Don't worry. I'm going to be placing misleading directional signs all over the campsite so people end up wandering out into the gorge instead of to the amphitheatre. Just like lemmings. This will clear up plenty of room at all of the stages. Just don't follow the signs and you and I will rule Sasquatch.

another conflict resolution, this time a particularly bad conflict for several people including myself: the new pornographers are in seattle july 31st (21+) and august 1st (all ages) at the showbox market. now you can see MGMT or neon indian without feeling too bad.

Y'all will be all, "WHAT WE 70 MILES AWAY FROM THE GORGE WHEN DIS HAPPEN" cuz y'all talk like that in my head. I'll be all "I WONT FUCK US OVER IM MR. NOVEMBER" cuz in this fantasy the National is currently playing that song. Last.

How about Midlake vs. Martina Topley Bird?
Anybody seen either/both live? Completely different music I know, but who is more likely to put on a better show?

A deep festivals = a TON of conflicts
Minus the Bear vs. Mumford & Sons The National vs. The Hold Steady (worst of the weekend, I'll try to catch the end of HS and see them in Seattle this summer, I REALLY wish Hold Steady and Nada Surf would switch) The Long Winters vs. The Tallest Man on Earth Public Enemy vs. Massive Attack (may catch a bit of PE early in their set) Mayer Hawthorne & the County vs. Past Lives The Temper Trap vs. Todd Barry Dr. Dog vs. Craig Robinson (2nd worst of the festival) She & Him vs. The Mountain Goats (weirdest conflict as I'm sure they have similar fans) The New Pornographers vs. MGMT vs. Neon Indian (I'll check out MGMT for a bit but I can't miss The New Pornographers, I'll see Neon Indian at Bumbershoot)
