i really can't believe that they have The National playing before Vampire Weakend
i wish they would fix that so there's no National/Patton Oswalt conflict
i'm not missing The National but i really wanted to see Patton

I have a feeling Patton might end even before The National, or at least I'm sure as hell hoping so. I have somewhat of the same conflict. I'm not missing Patton but I really want to see The National.

All right, it's out.
MY CONFLICTS:
Girls v. LCD Soundsystem
The Hold Stead v. The National (The National trumps, but GOD DAMN IT)
Tegan and Sara v. The XX
Otherwise, there are some easy choices in there.

I'm gonna have to say my biggest one is MGMT vs. New Pornographers...
Then there's the lesser ones:
Portugal. The Man vs. Middle East
Local Natives vs. Jets Overhead
Freelance vs. The XX

Freelance Whales will win over The XX for me, and The National would win if they were put against anybody short of The Beatles or Nirvana or something utterly ridiculous
aside from that I think I'm good. I look forward to mad-dashing across the festival site with all of you at some point in the weekend

Only two even semi-serious conflicts for me, the rest are inconsequential.
Saturday: All of Edward Sharpe v. Patton Oswalt v. OK Go (On the positive side, now I'm definitely seeing BSS. OK Go is kind of the Ralph Nader here.) Vampire Weekend v. Literally anything else (I have seen VW twice now, but none of the surrounding bands appeal to me. Especially not Dam-Funk, fuck that guy)
Sunday: None! Awesome!
Monday: Phantogram v. Seattle Rock Orchestra Japandroids' set beyond the first half hour v. Mountain Goats (Goddammit) MGMT maybe playing Kids v. Neon Indian

I am conflict free y'all! My two cents would be See BSS - their festie shows always rock! See LCD - I second the coachella show

awesome, my worst potential conflict of the weekend isn't one after all. the xx should be done with their set about 20 minutes before lcd soundsystem comes on at the main stage, plenty of time to run down there and get a decent spot. new pornos coming on 15 minutes after MGMT is the most painful part of the weekend from what i can see, i'll definitely be choosing MGMT since new pornos come to town a lot more often (has MGMT ever been to the northwest?)

And for almost that reason alone, I'll be seeing New Pornos -- even though I've never seen MGMT and have seen New Pornos two or three times.

SAT - EDWARD SHARPE W. MAG ZEROES VS. OK GO
SUN - ALL GOOD
MON - CAMERA OBSCURA (Love Love Love) VS. BAND OF HORSES (MEH but should go) <-- Two bands I'll prolly never see again MGMT VS NEW PORNOS (Neko Case is touring with them again! J'adore )
I haven't heard Hold Steady - this seems to be quite the conflict with the National for most people. (Do I dare check them out before the fest and create another conflict?)

The New Pornos suck live, I've seen em 3 times and each was underwhelming. MGMT were pretty good at Coachella. I like it more that they play their good songs and not rely on Kids.
Plus the new Pornos album is shit.

They're no good live??? That's really disapointing to hear! Agreed though - I'm not that into the new New Pornos album either. But I'd love to see Neko... and their old stuff is good. Which I'm sure they'll play lots old. I'm def more partial to the new MGMT album.... bahhh.... what to do, what to do!

Neko is their only saving grace. The thing is if you like both, you aren't going to make a bad decision. If it helps MGMT sounds just like they do on record where the New Pornos are more adventurous live!

The Hold Steady is a great band. They have a good live show. I absolutely recommend that you listen to The Hold Steady, but wait until after the festival. The National is one of the ten best bands currently recording and touring. I feel confident saying that. Do not miss them.

Mumford & Sons vs. Minus the Bear: Will probably watch Mumford and if they are "meh" then I will make my way to MtB. The National vs. The Very Best: Most likely watch the first 30 minutes of the National and then go catch TVB's set. Chances are I will never get another chance to see them. Girls vs. LCD Soundsystem: Bummed about this but easy decision. LCD all the way. Simian Mobile Disco vs. Massive Attack: MA for sure, but I will be kinda sad not to see SMD. If anything they should be doing the late set instead of Booka Shade. The Temper Trap vs. Phantogram: I don't know yet which one i'll catch. probably temper trap though. Japandroids vs. Mountain Goats: Will catch the first half of Japandroids and then watch TMG Camera Obscura vs. Band of Horses: Easily the most devastating conflict of the weekend for me. I might have to do half and half...we'll see. I do want to catch all of BoH's set though Pretty fucking stoked though, those aren't really a ton of conflicts at all. Most of my favorites I won't have a problem seeing at all. VERY VERY happy that Deadmau5 is starting a hour and a half after MMJ starts!
