First, it’s been a long time since I was here. I loitered in the lead up to lineup announcements for years. I was lucky enough to be a 2012, 2014, 2018 squatch attendee. I know the fest and the board pre-dates me by eons, but it was a good chunk of time for me I spent here reading and eventually posting a little bit.
Just curious if anyone thinks that this covid pandemic will possibly make the powers that be (zacks, promoters) feel more inclined to go back to the well of what worked sooner than later? I’m sure for someone like zacks normally the direction would be forward - you don’t do the old gag, you do the new one. But this was a unique year and a half ... hopefully unique for our lifetimes (I’m 38). So I just thought I’d throw out there for thoughts on the possibility of a re-launch or a one timer squatchfest in the next say 3-5 years? I know the nostalgia chord would be struck for me and many others already and the venue just seems prime for the new reality. One of the things we loved most was that you could at anytime find space and comfortably watch a show ... or of course get as down and dirty as I liked.
Maybe it’s been floated or even talked to death already by the core folks, but I did do a quick glance and didn’t see anything like it.
PS - I finally framed and put up my sasquatch posters. I honestly couldn’t do it for years as thinking about it brought up the yearn to be back so much! Also, the festival just seemed made for us. The first one we attended started on wife’s birthday and ended on mine ... so I’m of course super biased that a return could work.

Probably just THING from here on out. Maybe a new thing after the THING.

Yeah, if THING returns in 2022 I'd wager that's the 'new' Sasquatch. Maybe they'll go back to the Gorge for the 25th Squatchiversary in 2027.
