The new shit seriously sounds like U2, and that is not a compliment.

No excuses for trying to make music that sounds like it's 30 years old.

Seriously though I am not a fan of the North American disco band LCD Soundsystem.

Dude has good taste in music, I will concede. I wish DFA would release more Black Dice records.

I wish I had caught more of their set. I stayed at Jagwar Ma until the end and only caught the last 15 minutes or so of Vulfpeck, but they blew me away in that time. Insanely talented musicians.

Initial top 10:
1. LCD Soundsystem (Best set of the weekend, one of the best Sasquatch sets I've ever seen, probably top 5 show I've ever seen period) 2. Phantogram (I was worried about them playing in daylight, but the led screen projected their visuals perfectly and they truly love Sasquatch, which always helps.) 3. Rüfüs Du Sol (A near perfect festival closer) 4. Bonobo 5. Chance the Rapper 6. Thee Oh Sees 7. Sir Mix a Lot 8. MGMT 9. The Shins Sunset from the Hill 10. Twenty One Pilots (Seriously)

Most unexpected mind blowing: Moses Sumney. So glad I decided to walk over and check him out between The Shins and Chance. Absolutely beautiful set, what a fucking voice. He covered Bjork, for fuck's sake. Bjork. And he did it well. Looking back, he should probably be in my top ten list. But then again, so should at least 5 other sets I saw. What a fucking weekend. Can't wait to do it again next year.

Top disappointing moments of Sasquatch:
1. The bass at Car Seat Headrest, literally couldn't hear anything else the bass was so loud 2. Sleigh Bells not having a drummer 3. Sales disappointing me with those talk vocals

I was right down in front and it sounded fine to me. That's another set that would probably be in my top ten, if I hadn't missed the beginning of it. I literally started crying during Drunk Drivers/Killer Whales. Not sure exactly why, but it really hit me deep in that moment.

It was fine during the louder songs, but during the mellow stuff it was awful.

Panning bass is one of the first things we learned never to do in Live Sound. Would be interesting to know how much monitor bleed had to do with that.
