If we're revisiting artists who were not given a fair chance, let's do Major Lazer. They'll press a button and jump around and yell while their pre-recorded set plays. They'll tell people to jump. People will jump. They'll tell people to take their shirts off. People will take their shirts off. People will be cold. They'll bring some poor drunk asshole on stage and shave his head. They'll say they wish everyone would enjoy their show sober, without a hint of self-awareness that they wouldn't have a career if people came to their shows sober. You'll be at the Bigfoot stage wondering if you ever actually really believed that there would be a late added headliner, or if it was always just desperate hope. You'll listen to LCD Soundsystem when you get back to the campsite and quietly sip on a warm Rainier. Actually let's not revisit Major Lazer. Last time I saw them was in Austin like 4 or 5 years back so totally different show... but the whole shave the head of a drunk asshole... is that true? if so fuck that.

They did it when I saw them a few years ago at Capitol Hill Block Party

I've started working on my set time templates and I've come to a pretty logical theory. I think they're ditching the Uranus Stage this year. Last year, Monday had 35 total acts. At the moment, there are 29 on Monday this year. So if you take last year's 35 Minus 3 from Uranus.. Minus 1 comedy act that equals 31. Assuming they're going to add another comedian to Monday, that would bring this year's total to 30. So - I think it seems like this year's lineup if significantly smaller because they'll get rid of Uranus and probably add some comedy, and some acts here and there. OR - perhaps they're going to end up adding 12 Uranus acts across 4 days. Who knows? Either way, I'm prepared as far as the template goes.

Pea discovering that missing flag is both the best and worst thing to happen. It doesn't mean we're getting a new headliner. Like it or not, Major Lazer is headlining Sasquatch 2016 along with The Cure, Florence + the Machine, and Disclosure. More acts will be added, but not a headliner. Last year it was pretty obvious a headliner would be added above Of Monsters and Men because both Lana Del Rey and Ryan Adams were listed before them on the lineup poster. (Don't tell me Pavement was listed above Ween because that was a different circumstance. The same thing might have happened with Nine Inch Nails over Ben Harper, but I can't remember now.) Several artists will be added. I would expect them to be bands like CHVRCHES, Battles, or Charles Bradley, NOT a headliner.

Seriously though, the more I studied the images, the more changes I noticed between the original blank and the finished poster. It seems as though the artist was probably just asked to make some edits in order to display the names in a way they saw fit. Why did they really want a chunk of the sail deleted? Hell if I know. Would have made sense to simply move up Major Lazer and fill the bottom of the sail with one of the names from the small text. Then again, I don't run a festival so I don't really know shit about lineup poster aesthetics.

M + RL would fit nicely in that flag, and they just announced their new album. #Macklesquatch2016

The next name below the sails is Nathaniel Ratliff and the Night Sweats, which would take a whole boat to spell out. Could be they dropped a sail because of that.

What about U2? Do you think U2 might get added? Bono will probably be busking in the campground, so they might as well get added!

I can assure you that a variety of artists listed lower than Nathaniel Rateliff could have been moved up to "boat status."

I don't know how contracts and billing order and all that stuff works, but I imagine at that level it doesn't really matter. I retract my statement.

But in all seriousness, if an act does get added to the hidden sail Pea found, as much as I would LOVE for it to be Ween, I honestly think it will be CHVCHES. Fits perfect in both size and the hierarchy of the bands (when you take into account popularity, stage they will be on, set time they would probably play, etc.)

Just bought early bird tickets for Pemberton -- with the exchange rate the ticket was $180 USD I think I'm going to wait and see who else is added before buying a ticket. It's a good lineup this year, but I just cant justify spending THAT much money when Pemberton is literally half.
