I'm getting really stoked to catch Tacocat. My friend just saw them in Europe and said they were kick ass. I caught their 1:00 Yeti set last year (two years ago?) and it was an absolute blast. After they finished, Party in the USA came on the PA and rather than help the rest of the band break down their gear, the drummer just put her hands in the air and led the crowd in an impromptu Miley Cyrus dance party. It was one of the highlights of the whole weekend for me. I saw them a couple years back opening for Haim at The Paramount. Definitely a great band to see live! High energy forsure, their set will be enough to get me out of the campgrounds early.

Are those the colors from last year except for the background and symbol at the bottom left_ Same concept. Minus the Uranus stage. I'm not really sure why they announce the map each year like there will be any notable differences. This year's map especially looks like it was thrown together as an afterthought.

So there has been very little excitement for Wolf Alice, but I think this is going to be my top pick for a front row spot. Meet me at the yeti on Friday night. I like the video too...

Gotta love all the product placements on the map. That should mean we go to those locations to get comped some free shit, but I doubt it. Did that mean anything in previous years?

Wow, last years is way easier on the eyes for me. Scrolling up and comparing hurts me. But not much has changed. Good thing Friday lends plenty of time to explore the new things in the venue!

There should be a separate map thread. I would paste a map here just to be prickly, but

They used to hand out condoms at a Trojan dome (lol) and Monster energy drinks at a Monster tent when Warped Tour was at the gorge.

The Mio tent was great last year, as much Mio as you want to help hydrate and they gave us bottles of it to bring back to camp. A couple years ago Sharpie was a sponsor which was cool, scored a ton of colours (a bit of a marker and art supply nerd). Twix as a sponsor was fuckin hilarious, they had 4 huge tables, with 2 small Tupperwear bowls of half melted mini chocolates placed on each of these huge tables. It looked like a really bad set up for a Halloween party.

Not to complain but.. here's a minor complaint.. I think it was on the podcast where Adam Zacks(?) alluded to some "surprises" in store for this year. It was probably just a response like, "wouldn't want to give away any surprises" or "it wouldn't be a surprise if I gave it away." Now that the map and schedule are out, it looks like the only surprise this year is that it is the most expensive yet, and there are less acts.
That being said, I'm still really excited to return to the Gorge. The lineup is great. The weather should be perfect. And the schedule isn't nearly as conflict heavy as it could have been for me. Looking forward to having a great weekend. Also - is there any sort of meetup you all do? It's just me and my roommate going together, and we want to meet some of you folks!

About 80% of the people I camp with are current and former members of the board. There are only a few of us left from the "old days" here, but just about everyone who was a regular between 2010 and 2014 can be found in one lump of campsites. I'm not sure about any meetups yet, but I'll let ya know if anything gets thrown together on our end. There are a lot of people echo your sentiment about "surprises" and overall value of the festival this year. It's getting damn expensive, and more so than ever it kind of feels like we're getting a stripped down Sasquatch experience. I think the production of the festival peaked creatively between 2011 and 2012. Now we have fewer artists, one less stage, still no visual arts, etc. I still love this festival and the Gorge more than almost anything, but it's going to get harder and harder to justify attending after I move out of the country this coming winter. I really hope one of these years more effort will be put into creating an interactive experience for the attendees. I've been to festivals 3 times the size and 1/10th the size of Sasquatch, and just about all of them give the audience so much more than just the music on the stages.
