Did the promoter shit the bed again this year but jacking the prices to high? or is this due to the low Canadian dollar or just lack of interest in the line up?

D. All of the above.

-Flooded festival market -Low Canadian dollar -Generic lineup -Unreasonable camping cost -Rising ticket prices
Take your pick. The Gorge can only sell itself to a certain extent. There aren't too many other incentives anymore for someone to choose Sasquatch over all of the other cheaper and better-run festivals with arguably better lineups.

I for one am not upset. Actually thought it should be a few less thousand. Remember Sasquatch got a waiver on max capacity a few years ago. Guessing it will be close to max come Thursday. There is no question headliners are not as exciting as in years past with the exception of Friday's headliner who haven't played Sasuatch since year 3. However the undercard is very strong and I had no trouble filling time slots in with new bands I'm excited to see. No question Canadian dollar is playing into lower sales. Nominal camping should should have been 90 not 150. Price for DMB over Labor Day.

I think it's ok to be critical of something you love. At the end of the day, Sasquatch is a business and I'm a customer. I'll still be there, and I'll still have an incredible weekend. I just hope a few things are reworked/restructured to ensure the continuation of a great festival.

I agree..I have been critical on many occasions with this festival..starting with increasing festival prices quite a bit but telling everyone we will get free camping..then to telling us moving festival to 4 days but only a short first day..then to 3 days but 2 weekends..but every year I go I have a great time. Part of it is my love for gorge..been going to shows since 1988 with Bob Dylan. Furthermore I have been to Sasquatch every year except year 2 and 3. So in your opinion Pea what do you see as best way to improve for next year...is it the way festival is run or types of bands that are booked. I agree with your point of several groups of bands that show up to all festivals..I'm guessing it has something to do with how festivals operate today and with big percentages of festivals having recently bought out with big boys chances of this changing seem slim...guess all we can do is wait and hope that we continue to enjoy the festival for years to come
