I am okay with this lineup. Like I said before we don't get a lot of big shows in Calgary so coming from that standpoint there's lots for me to be excited about, including:
Kendrick Lamar, Modest Mouse (I saw them twice last year but both times were great), Spoon, Hot Chip, SBTRKT, Schoolboy Q, New Pornographers, Father John Misty, Run the Jewels, Real Estate, Future Islands, Ab-Soul, Action Bronson, Rustie, Woods, Courtney Barnett, The Districts, Will Butler, Twin Peaks, Merchandise, Hiss Golden Messenger, Bishop Nehru, and Natalie Prass.
Disappointed by the lack of Björk, My Morning Jacket, Jamie xx, and TV on the Radio.

Trying to focus at work the morning after the lineup announcement is actually harder than trying to focus the afternoon waiting for it to come out.

Disappointed by the lack of Björk, My Morning Jacket, Jamie xx, and TV on the Radio. Did u see Godspeed You! Black Emperor is curating Sled Island this year? Also saw Shakey Graves is first announcement for FolkFest. Agree not a lot of big shows in Calgary, we get some bands on their way up or way down, rarely in prime. Intrigued by a lot of the mid-poster bands but hard to justify the $ for those 'headliners' ... especially with the Canadian dollar so low to the US. $12 beer=$15.

We're discussing it in the "Other Festivals" thread

Robert Plant. Everything is forgiven about the rest of the lineup. Also excited to see some Sharon Van Etten/Courtney Barnett action again. Lots of mid level chunes worth checking out.

Damn how did I miss Dilated Peoples last night?! Thats some top grade hiphop. I know. I missed them on my first pass too, but they are definitely on my "excited to see" list. The hip hop lineup this year is quite exceptional: Kendrick, Dilated Peoples,Ab-Soul, Schoolboy Q (hopefully they show up this time), Raury, and even Action Bronson should be a good time. Also worth noting that Kendrick, Ab-Soul, and Schoolboy Q are all playing the same day, so some Black Hippy is a very real possibility. Edit: How did I forgot to put Run the Jewels on that list. The more I think about it, this lineup just gets better and better.

Action Bronson is a phenomenal rapper and Mr. Wonderful is going to be one hell of an album.

Björk dropped out the night before the party because of us. We did this. We am become Lars Von Trier.

Damn how did I miss Dilated Peoples last night?! Thats some top grade hiphop. What do you think of the lineup? I've got a lot of research to do for the undercard, that's for sure! But I love the heavy dose of hiphop! Modest Mouse is my favorite band of all time, so they're a no brainer. Robert Plant at the Gorge? Fuckin' right. Lots of great stuff on this lineup to be excited about. Has anybody counted the # of bands to start predicting the amount of adds we will get? This list seems somewhat diminished in length than we have received on lineup day in the past but I can't be assed to do the work to figure out if that is true or not. And I've come to realize that if you go to one or more festivals a year, being upset that a lineup has too many bands that you've already seen is just silly. Now I just gotta see an actual schedule so I can try and figure out which of the Coachella crossovers I should see while there.

I'm gonna count up the number of acts now.

Counting from the poster I'm coming up with 101 music acts and 8 comedy acts for a grand total of 109.

So I expect to see a few adds to Friday at least, including a proper headliner. Re: Robert Plant, I hear he usually does The Battle of Evermore in his solo sets, which is my all time favorite Led Zeppelin song. So, ya, we're gonna get to experience that at the Gorge.

Maybe they'll add the Strokes or something to Friday. Should sell tickets and they have the popularity to claim headliner status.
