So that extra Bloody Beetroots date came out like a month ago. Are you telling me that they only gave it a few weeks before deciding to cancel whole thing with the festival still being months away? What the actual fuck. This is my theory. I think July Squatch was nixed a month ago but they were waiting to see if ticket sales increased enough to rescue it. When the sales didn't materialize they made it "public". I think a lot of the bands were knowing what was happening way earlier than what is led onto believe. This is the corporate world. Stuff like this doesn't happen at the drop of a hat. They had a line in the sand and said this is where we will not cross. I think Sasquatch weekend two crossed that line a while ago but they were just hoping to find some way to rescue it but couldn't. So they cut and run.

I saw Sargent House tweet out something saying that the festival asked Helms Alee to play in May but they will be on tour at that time. So that won't be happening.

Maybe Sandrider will play in May. That would be so rad! It seems like the local bands would be the most likely to move to May. I will keep my fingers crossed.

Everything Sasquatch has put out for this year will have to be changed (website, Facebook graphics, twitter, lineup video, etc), which leaves room for some announcements of artists that might have been playing in July that will be moved to May.
Im fairly interested to see how this all plays out. Personally hoping for an added day, but not getting my hopes up.
Sorry to everyone who was planning on attending Julysquatch. I offer my sincere condolences. Maysquatch will still be epic as fuck though!

Clipping made a statement on their facebook about Julysquatch being cancelled, but then they added a comment that they would be in Washington around that time.

What are they gonna do, send everyone a bill for 75 extra bucks? They're certainly not going to double down on their losses by giving it away for free. There are about 10 slots on the bill that hadn't been filled yet. I imagine they'll work on filling those spots in with bands from Julysquatch. Beyond that, I imagine STG will put on Seattle shows for a number of the artists who are still planning on touring through the area in July.

What if they added a "kickoff party" style thing for the monday ("closing party"), like what hangout fest did this year? Additional optional day for something like $75. Get as many July bands as possible. If you don't wanna pay it, nothing changes. If you do wanna pay it, Sasquatch just got longer/better.

That would actually be alright if the lineup was worth a shit, but so many people would bitch, since they are already paying what they did last year for 4 days.

A 4th day won't happen for the same reason weekend 2 isn't happening... LiveNation.

And ideally free for those that had july tix. So that we not only get $50 off our May pass, we also get an extra day free? Ya, that would be cool, but it will never happen. I think what Cbatssaid was 100% correct. There is no way they would put themselves through the logistical nightmare of planning and executing an extra day just so they can lose even more money. May tickets have likely been selling pretty well already, so they have no motivation to give us anything more than what we've already paid for.

How about two single nights over the 4th of July? Night one is an early date for NIN, Soundgarden, and Death Grips, followed by night two with Kraftwerk and NMH, plus whoever else fits. Jive nation can sell tickets for two new shows, and Julysquatch ticket holders get both nights on their already purchased pass.

Guys, stop trying to make yourselves depressed. Julysquatch is dead and the best you can hope for at this point are pre-sales for any re-booked shows.

I think chances of adding the extra day are pretty slim - mainly because the only options would be Thursday or Monday, and an extra half-day would be weird on either of those. I think the raised costs were to cover their asses in the case that both weekends wouldn't sell out, so I don't think it is too farfetched for them to give us more music than scheduled to make up for the July cancellation. They are already banking heavily on the raised May costs in comparison to last year (though I'm not taking into account whatever they're losing in the cancellation). I think the "livenation" reason for not adding a day is legit because livenation sucks, but I am not ruling out the hope they we get more than what is already bargained for in May. Just like I didn't completely rule out the idea that July might get cancelled, I'm not going to completely rule out the idea that we will be blessed with moar music. Maybe starting each day a set earlier? That would allow for about 12 more acts in addition to the regular slots that need to be filled. It seems like a good balance, and a small way to keep Sasquatch fans loyal - I think even livenation is smart enough to know they can't leave Sasquatch consumers this unhappy. Even loyal board members are saying they never want to go back.

That shit didn't come cheap.
