Let's start a thread where we post bands that would be good choices to play Sasquatch 2014. Not really like a wishlist, but just a few smaller bands that would fit the Sasquatch setting well. Bands that have new albums coming out, haven't been to Sasquatch before/in awhile, etc. We could send the results to AZ once we get a solid list goin to possibly give him some ideas.
My choices:
Foxy Shazam (Put on a crazy show, haven't played Sasquatch yet) Anamanaguchi (Just released a new album, would be a great dance tent act.) The Dead Milkmen (New album released last year, apparently working on another) Meat Puppets (Way overdue for a Sasquatch appearance.) Moistboyz (New album coming out soon, and who doesn't want to see Deaner shred at the Gorge?) Gogol Bordello (Just released a new album, and are one of the best live bands out there)
So yeah, let's do this.

I know I said this already but to reiterate:
Cut Copy (New album on the way, skipping Seattle on their tour, also they would be a blast) Hot Chip (New single opens the possibility of a new album on the way, can't remember the last time they were in the PNW) YACHT (Rumors of a new album in 2014, perfect festival band)
Actually probably just any DFA artist. That Holy Ghost! set was amazing.

Speaking of DFA, both Factory Floor and Shit Robot have new albums right about this time, and supposedly put on amazing live shows. One of them could easily fit in somewhere.

I am hoping to see more hard rock this year. Some potentials:
Indian Handcrafts (I have never seen them and am almost positive they haven’t played in WA yet. AND they are Canadian so yeah) Russian Circles (New album about to drop, would be EPIC at the big foot when it gets dark) Sandrider (New album coming out and they are the pick of the litter off of Good To Die Records...got to show some love for this Seattle label that continually pumps out good albums)
Also would love to see:
Le Butcherettes (Terri Gender Bender’s band will be releasing a new album next year) Run The Jewels (Two of the best hip-hop sets I have ever seen (El-P and Killer Mike) performing together)

I agree with Moistboyz just because I want to see Deaner play guitar all the time. Caribou (not dance tent) /Daphni (dance tent) Fuck Buttons Nicolas Jaar (he does have a new album coming up)

These New Puritans (Have a new album, never have done sasquatch) The Naked and Famous (New Album, haven't performed since their first record came out) Man Man (Great new album, long overdue for their fist sasquatch performance) The Front Bottoms (Excellent new album, they have a lot of hype behind them right now) Crystal fi-ghters (Lesser known band would be great for early morning mainstage or mid afternoon on a smaller stage) Blue Hawaii (Would be a great fit considering the past couple years of the Purity Ring, CHVRCHES style acts) Anamanaguchi (Just release a new album, would be a great dance tent act.) That would be a lot of fun. I am in full support of this. I know I said this already but to reiterate: Cut Copy (New album on the way, skipping Seattle on their tour, also they would be a blast) Hot Chip (New single opens the possibility of a new album on the way, can't remember the last time they were in the PNW) YACHT (Rumors of a new album in 2014, perfect festival band) Actually probably just any DFA artist. That Holy Ghost! set was amazing. Great choices, all three are high on my list of must see acts. I have been championing for Hot Chip for a couple years now, I feel like they are loooong overdue.

There's no way Lorde won't be there. It's crazy how much she exploded because of that boring song.

These threads make me feel so god damn old. Ehh, I think it's more along the lines of you not necessarily keeping up with new music. A huge part of music festivals to me is the opportunity for me to see a lot of the new artists that I've discovered over the past year. I know a lot of them are extremely disposable and won't make lasting marks in music culture, but I get bored if I don't constantly have something new to explore. Music A.D.D., if you will.

Chance the Rapper will probably be there if he drops an album next year, and if he is working on more material with James Blake and that makes him eligible for a spot at the Gorge then sweet, I'm alright with that (but it doesn't and it won't happen). One of those 6 Headlining spots will be a Hip-Hop artist, here's to no Macklemore 4-peat. Little Comets, Snakadaktal, The Internet, and Aluna George would be cool.

I'd personally lose my shit if Chance played.
I think Arcade Fire are pretty strong in the running for any of the headlining spots. New album, sizeable catalogue now, massively hyped...yeah.
MGMT seem poised to be a returner this year, with a new album and four long years since that last set...
And I think it's inevitable that Coyne and Co. will be back in some form or fashion...

I'd have to agree that Arcade Fire will definitely be a headlining machine next festival circuit, which increases their Sasquatch chances. I know people here hate them, but I'd personally love that having never seen them.

I haven't really been a fan of anything they've done since Funeral but the new songs they played during and after SNL sounded really really good. I'm all for them headlining at this point.

I know people here hate them, but I'd personally love that having never seen them. Arcade Fire are great, their show in 2005 is still one of my favorite Sasquatch experiences. Their new songs are really solid, and I would love to see them at the Gorge again.

I feel the same way as you folks seem to: I loved their 2005 Sasquatch performance and would love to see them back at the Gorge. I've liked just about everything they've done, and their live show is very impressive.
