I'd rather it stayed 1 weekend but since we don't get to choose, I am already processing how to make it work for both weekends. Fortunately, it is close-by for me, I have very a flexible schedule for work with more vaca than I have $ to do anything with, and even though I get paid shit, I should be able to swing it. I know that is not the case for every one. I will be bummed if the group ends up split between the weekends though.
I don't really have concerns about the quality of the lineups suffering though. I trust Snacks. There is always more good stuff than I have time to see and if this move results in more small, lesser known, acts, all the better for me.
July 4 might be too hot though... Really interested to see how this will all pan out.

I can understand, objectively, the annoyance with this situation. But I just don't feel it myself. What this means is that, if I can afford it, I can go to Sasquatch twice in one summer. More Sasquatch is exactly what I want to do every year when I come back from Sasquatch. So, like, score.
The other side of that is that if I can't afford it, then there will be two lineups and I can pick the one I like best. The idea of there being ANY kind of Sasquatch going on that I have to miss fills me with existential dread, but I'll deal with that when I have to.
As it is, it's pretty much only every other year that a band plays the Gorge that I want to see outside of Sasquatch (Phiiiiiiish). I'm always hoping there will be more bands there over the course of a summer that I want to see, and now that's going to happen.
Shit, at least they're not Coachelling us and making us buy our tickets eleven months in advance without any idea of what the lineup is like.

...and yeah, it's hot as shit at the Gorge in July but that's a tradeoff too. You gotta play it cool during the day; rest, hydrate, try not to over-extend yourself. But you don't have to carry a bag full of clothes and shit into the venue so you don't freeze your tits off when the sun goes down, because the temperature sits at like seventy degrees. I'm all about that.

Even though I'm not in the NW and can only really manage one per year, I'm into it. And I'd imagine that the 4th of July weekend will generally work out better for me anyhow - schedule-wise and whatnot - so were I to just commit to that, there wouldn't be any butthurt over potentially picking the shittier lineup during presale. In any event, I'm sure the lineups will be fairly balanced in terms of awesome. They wouldn't dick people over by making one clearly better than the other.
Is it a cash grab? Absolutely. Am I mad about that? Not at all. Just like most everyone else in the world, Live Nation, Snacks, and whoever else puts on Sasquatch are primarily in the business of making money. Obviously, most (I would hope) of the people involved like music and care about doing a good job, but if the demand's there, why not go bigger and better? I know I'd do the same. And for what it's worth, I remember people getting all pissed off when the festival went from 2 days to 3, then from 3 to 3 and a half, then when single day tickets were discontinued. This is just more of the same. I personally don't see any reason to be up in arms about it; if at some point I do start to feel that it's too much money for too little awesome, I just won't go.

Until we see proof that this is a cash grab and the lineups are going to be diluted I just don't see much to be upset about.

If anything, I bet the lineup will be stronger. The ticket price is going to be pretty high for 3 days assuming it is the same or a little bit more than last year. Having one less day means the other 3 days should be more stacked with talent.

I don't see how ticket prices wouldn't drop at least a little bit. I doubt they'll drop 80 bucks but I'd expect them to fall slightly under 300.

I would guess that they would be exactly the same as this year. I mean they sold out in 90 minutes and plently of people bought scalped tickets for $450 plus. I don't think they would have any problem selling tickets at $350 again. There is not much question in my mind that the lineups will be slightly diluted. That being said, selling twice as many tickets at (I'm guessing) the same price as last year, they should be able to land one or two extra big names. Not to mention that fact that Sasquatch is riddled with conflicts every year, so you can't see all of the 'deeper' lineup anyway. My first reaction was not a good one, I like my Sasquatch just the way it is now, but the reality is I will probably just go to both.

As for the cheaper blind tickets in November...it would be really awesome if we get presale tickets that can be used for either weekend. Just so you won't be making double the gamble in regards to which weekend you should buy for.

What if they added the 4th of July weekend because Zacks booked Neutral Milk Hotel, but they couldn't make it over from Spain during Memorial Day Weekend?
