Do we have enough people that would care about doing this? Additionally, anyone with experience running a fantasy league? Any ideas on a good place to run a free one? If we were to run one, would you prefer a standard hockey pool, or a league? I'm down for fantasy anything, and ESPN is my preferred vendor. It's easy to run these things, Foxy.

Although I've never placed better than second to last in every hockey pool I've ever been in. So, get ready for some money y'all?

OK, we have 3 so far. We can do as few as four teams, but I'd like to see at least 8. Come on peeps!

I know absolutly nothing about hockey, but I'll play. I'll probably end up drafting Scott Gomez, Brandon Dubinsky, Joey Crabb, and Nate Thompson with my first four picks.

I'm in.
I was in a league on yahoo last year that I liked, but I've never used any other sort of fantasy sport site so I have nothing to compare it to.

I'll probably use ESPN just because it looks easy as hell.
Games start next Saturday, and we'll look at doing the live draft sometime in the middle of next week. I'll set up the league over the weekend and link you all to it. Still would like a minimum of 3 more participants and I'd like to cap around 12, but we could do more if needed.

I'll assert my board domination in another fantasy sport.

I'd be down. But I'd like to know the rules, as there are quite a few shitty fantasy hockey formats I've been involved with.

I haven't looked in to it too much yet. I'll do some looking around tomorrow and am definitely open to suggestions.
First post updated with participants for now.

Definitely use ESPN. They make things easy. This will get you started: games.espn.go.com/fhl/content?page=fhlrulesindex2013Looks like the two options are rotisserie or H2H (head to head). I prefer rotisserie myself. The best team wins in rotisserie while H2H opens the door to a lot of luck. We want a live draft. They put us all in a chat room while we draft, so it makes for a fun hour or so of banter. When you pick the draft time, keep in mind it will likely be Eastern time, so if you want to draft at 8pm, don't pick 8pm ET. Ten people is the perfect amount for a league, so I'm sure you can talk someone else on the board into filling the last spot.

My preference would actually be head to head. I know that the best team doesn't always win, but I like throwing a bit more luck into these sort of things. That's just my opinion though. Also, is it possible that we could make the draft at 8pm pacific or is that to late for some people? I work 7-7 so I would likely miss out on the live draft, and I hate auto picking.

All of us except FD and 'nater are in the PST so I'll leave it up to them to object, but 8PM PST sounds good to me. Roto is the one I was looking at simply because I've never done a roto league before and would like to give it a shot. If others would like to vote on which style they would like, I invite you to do so over the course of the next 24 hours. I don't mind doing H2H if that's what the majority wants.
I'll set up the league tomorrow morning once we get some more input on the style, and will aim to draft either Wednesday or Thursday of next week.

Oh yeah, and we need at least one more player, and maximum 3 more to make this work. ESPN offers only 8, 10, and 12 person leagues.

It sounds like Switch is interested in the last spot.
