PUT THE FUCKING KNIFE ON ERRYBODYS. ^This. At least for me anyways. Just listened to Shaking the Habitual for the third time in 12 hours and I foresee a long lasting relationship with this album.

What the fuck is up with the human race and their general disdain for long, ambient tracks interspersed with dance numbers? That is the best part about this album, fucking balance. I have been busy and mostly boarding on my phone. In other words, PEA UPDATE YER OWN DAMN LIST AND WHILE YER AT IT PUT THE FUCKING KNIFE ON ERRYBODYS. Disdain is a strong word but I guess I'm not a fan. I enjoy drone well enough but I need to be in the right mood for it. The drones on the new Godspeed are wonderful because they fit perfectly alongside the other tracks. In contrast, The Knife lulls me into one specific mood and then abruptly switches to another one that is vastly different. I have no problem with tracks like Oryx and Crake but 20 minute long excursions into drone are going to be skipped more often than not. It's only a minor complaint because they're easy to skip and we're still left with 50ish minutes of brilliant music but I imagine it will keep it from being a 10 on Pitchfork (not that that means anything).

20 minute long excursions into drone are going to be skipped more often than not. This particular side of the LP will probably get the most action from my needle.

I ask myself that question daily.
Related note, I think I will be one of maybe 3 people tonight enjoying Oneotrix Point Never's set opening for Sigur Ros

Wait, OPN is touring with Sigur Ros? Why the fuck aren't they at Sasquatch?

I think they're only opening like half of the tour, although someone similar replaces them afterwards. Can't remember who right now.
Regardless, I don't know exactly what you'd do with them as Sasquatch. Have they ever had a comparable artist at Sasquatch?

No, but I know exactly what I'd do if they were at Sasquatch: go watch the hell out of 'em. I've been dying to see that shit (at the Gorge) for years.

I had it backwards, Tim Hecker did the first few dates of the tour and then OPN stepped in. The North American tour ends after Coachella though so Sasquatch is more of a one off date.
edit: Europe got Blanck Mass though which is bullshit

Oneohtrix Point Never is just one dude, but he will fuckin' rock yer socks off like nobody's business.
I'm trying to think of something comparable that has been at Sasquatch, but if there was it was probably in the B-Shack early and I missed it.

I never know what the proper etiquette is with one man bands. Are they individuals or entities? I usually go with they but I'm open to changing.

I'm gonna check that one out. Also, drew, do you think Iceage is something that I'd be into? I will probably check them out as well.
