I've never been to Sasquatch but it's looking like I will journey that way this year. Has anyone ever stayed in a hotel during the festival? Does anyone know what the closest hotels are and how close they are? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm from Austin and know absolutely nothing about George, WA.

Well there is a small town just a few miles north of the gorge turn off, called Quincy. Which was, at least to me, surprising because it was a extremely Mexican village in the middle of Washington... but anyway, there are a few hotels, grocery store and some other food places. I don't know if you have the intentions of staying at a hotel every night of sasquatch but i don't think there is one person on this forum who would trade in the sasquatch camping for a 5 star hotel.
Trust me, if you have never been to sasq! before, the only thing that could possibly be appropriate after rocking out to the headliner... is the after partys in the campgrounds.
unless of course, your one of THOSEEEE people, that like to sleep at night, then there is a Premier camping (where quiet hours are observed)

There's a Platinum VIP package available this year (an upgrade from the Gold VIP package) which includes housing I believe. You may want to check into that.

Every little town(and some of the big ones, too) in Central Washington is Mexican. Well, not every town, but a good bit. And I don't mean that in any offensive way, I'm just saying. Ran a lot of Cross Country in Yakima, Pasco, Wenatchee, etc.

It's all farm county up there, so of course it is full of Mexicans!! There are a couple hotels in Quincy, not nice at all, but hey, what do you expect. I think there is even an old Holiday Inn. they all book up really fast though and most of them only sell all the nights of a concert, not just one or two.

I stay at THE DESERT AIRE MOTEL
I'm an old fart (age 51!) and my back requires a bed... so I avoid the campground and head for a motel. Flush toilets, running water and a private shower are also a nice consideration.
This is the third year in a row I will be staying at the motel at Desert Aire, which is about 20 minutes south of Interstate 90 where it crosses the Columbia. It's a quiet place, simple, not fancy but very functional. It is out of the way enough that it's fairly peaceful. This year it will cost me about $85 a night for a single room, including room tax. If you stay there it will take you about 40-45 minutes to get to the amphitheater.
It doesn't fill up as quickly as the places in Quincy and Moses Lake, so if you are looking at this "late", you still might have a shot at getting a room at this place.
Their phone number is 509-932-4300.
DIRECTIONS: From Seattle, take exit 137 and go south on WA highway 243. - From Spokane, it's still exit 137, just go down the hill from George. Once you're on 243 heading south, it's a couple of miles past the turn-off to Mattawa, and it is on the right. It's part of a small complex that includes a gas station (Shell, I think). - From Tri-Cities, take WA route 240 west across Hanford, and after a while you continue north on WA route 24. When you cross the Columbia at Vernita Bridge, turn left onto WA route 243. Go north until you get to Desert Aire!
TIP: I always arrange to pick up my room key on my way to the amphitheater. You would need to get your room key for that night before you go to the show... because otherwise there would be nobody in the motel office to give you the key after the concert, like at midnight or so.
