First EP entry of the year. Diplo's "Express Yourself" is off the fucking hook! He's going to absolutely destroy Block Party next month.

Stepdad's "Wildlife Pop" has been blowing my mind all weekend. Some of the best and catchiest synth pop I've ever heard. 2012 is kicking so much ass.

Spiritualized - Sweet Heart Sweet Light Do it. Definitely one of my favorites of the year so far. Did you end up staying to watch them on the Bigfoot? Worst festival conflict ever.

Spiritualized was my favorite of the weekend. Pretty mind-blowing. Made up for me being upset about Mogwai not being there

Yes sir. Also, dude. Check out that Stepdad album I mentioned early. They're like a smarter version of Passion Pit. Totally over the top and exciting to listen to.
Actually, start by youtubing their music video for "My Leather, My Fur, My Nails." I think these guys are right up your alley.

I am adding the Anywhere - S/t album to my list of favorites of 2012. Fucking sweet. Mike Watt on bass and the polarizing Cedric to top it off! I also was going to add Sandrider -s/t but then I checked my facts and that was actually released in 2011 (oops)
Maps & Atlases - Beware and Be Grateful THEESatisfaction - awE naturalE The Mars Volta - Noctourniquet Liars - WIXIW

You can add both Jack White's new album as well as Twin Shadow's Confess to my list.
I have a feeling Blunderbuss will ultimately end up in my top 10 list.
As for Sigur Ros's new album... sorry, but for me it's a major disappointment. It's not that I hate it, exactly. It's just that it's nowhere nearly as exciting as I had hoped it to be... actually, scratch that - I do kinda hate it. Y U NO LIKE DRUMS ANYMORE??

Definitely one of my favorites of the year so far. Did you end up staying to watch them on the Bigfoot? Worst festival conflict ever. Just saw this post! You bet your beard we did. It was a highly anticipated show by both Lucy and I and ultimately it came to be one of our favorite memories together thus far! I really wish I got to see Beck...so bad. But we were mesmerized!

Loops of Your Heart - And Never Ending Nights Circle - Serpent Circle - Manner
I fucking love Circle. Two brilliant albums so far this year, with more to come on the horizon from what I understand. Not surprising since that puts these guys at 41 albums total since 1994. Manner is a studio masterpiece, while Serpent is its live counterpart. I feel like I've mentioned this around here somewhere before, but THEY COVER BRIAN ENO ON THESE RECORDS! And that, to me, is just about the coolest fucking thing you can do as a band after 20 years of consistently rockin' heavy-as-shit psychedelic riffs.
