So what you're trying to say is that Primus is confirmed? No he's saying that he agrees that 24hrs isn't enough time.

Geno, what Know is nicely trying inadvertently tell you is that your speculation logic is fucking terrible.

Geno, what Know is nicely trying inadvertently tell you is that your speculation logic is fucking terrible. <3 I'm not picking on Geno here, three others have said the same thing in this thread about Primus, plus Switch said the same thing to me last night in person. Pavement is a big name, yeah? Pavement played Primavera and Sasquatch in the same weekend in 2010 (as did Broken Social Scene). The Flaming Lips are a big name, yeah. The Flaming Lips played Primavera and Sasquatch last year in the same weekend. In the case of Primus specifically, those who follow the band know they come and go. Primus will play for a year or two, then Claypool will tour with a different side project, then solo with freaks, then another side project, then Primus for a year, then solo, etc. Les has been touring as Primus for a year and a half now. That could end any day. Therefore the fact that Primus is confirmed to still be Primus in late May should result in high fives from those hoping they attend Sasquatch. Even if they require a full off day between sets at each festival, Summer Camp only rules them out for Saturday of Sasquatch.

Okay here is some speculation for you.
Rise Against does not have any NW dates on their next tour. They are of the right size to either fill the Against Me! slot on Friday or headline the Bigfoot on another night.
Tom Petty has no NW dates and he typically comes around to the gorge each time. I know he is a little bit big but i think he could be an outside possibility. I know the logic that he could sell out the gorge on his own, and you are right (whoever is arguing with me in the future) but the fact is so could The Cure and the Foo Fighters both of whom have played in recent years.

Rise Against is way too big to be in Against Me!'s slot. I'd say maybe a subheadliner on the mainstage if anything.

Are you saying that they aren't bigger than Against Me? They played at the Rose Quarter here recently, and if I remember right, the WaMu as well.

I'm not saying anything, but you're in denial that Skrillex and Foster the People can sell out WAMU, Mumford can headline a Key Arena show, and that Black Keys are Sasquatch-sized headliners, so I think you should just pause a moment before making "no fucking way X Is bigger than Y" comments.

I've never been in denial. I just always have a hard time understanding HOW they got to play those venues. Friendly D explained it pretty well to me so I understand a little better now.

All of the time that Les was splitting his attention between Primus and his other projects was during a 10+ year recording hiatus for Primus. I think he's gonna have his hands full touring for Green Naugahyde for the next little bit. Which is a good thing. And god damn it I wasn't crying, I was just saying that Primus' schedule went from being wiiiiide open in the Spring to them having a scheduled performance at another festival halfway across the country on the same weekend as Sasquatch. That doesn't rule them out, but it certainly doesn't improve the odds that they'll be there.

I honestly have no idea how to judge rise against's popularity vis a vis sasquatch because it would be a horrible fit for both parties. Unless they're like opening for rage on loud friday there is no reason for them to be there.
Tom Petty plays a fucking weekend at the Gorge every year. Add in the fact that it looks like he'll be at Coachella (who certainly won't want him playing another west coast festival a month later) and I can say with certainty he won't be there.
Ditto on everything Know said above.

Petty wouldn't be a wise way to promote a 2 weekend festival. Plus, the main organizer stated a few months ago that the 2012 headliners won't be older (aged) acts.

ah good to know. That's too bad they're moving away from the aged headliners. It's not like I'm going this year but headliners like that (classic acts I'd never see otherwise) are always welcome imo

So... no Northwest dates for Tool on their upcoming US tour...

Tool is MAYBE sub-headline worthy. If anything they would probably play around 7 on the Bigfoot.

For seriously, leave the Coachella board humor at the Coachella board.
I'm 90% convinced that one of those assholes is responsible for the recent board functionality issues, so I have pretty low tolerance right meow.
