It says about the dress code right on the ticketmaster page when you buy the tickets, so you know what you are getting into when you buy them. Don't like it? Don't go.
Like you said, I seriously doubt they are going to deny anyone entrance the night of the show. Just a fun thing to try and get everyone to do!

I'm just picturing some 16 year old kid showing up with a dress shirt on and getting told it isn't formal enough and it makes me mad.
Ticketmaster just says "Please wear formal attire or costume" but their tweet says mandatory. That's my only beef with this.

Wow, they even have that dress code at the Gorge. Wearing dress clothes in August Gorge heat doesn't sound fun. You definitely have to dress light, so that limits costume ideas. No thank you.

"To everyone really upset about us asking people to dress up at our shows… please relax. It’s super not mandatory. It just makes for a more fun carnival when we are all in it together. So far these have been the best shows we have ever played. See you soon. Love, Arcade Fire"

Goddamn I want to see Disclosure again. Spent most of their set at 'squatch babysitting.

Those kids know how to throw a dance party, I'll give them that! I think they were actually just back in Seattle about a month ago, although it might be a little bit too late for me to inform you of that in a timely manner.

No worries man, I knew about that show but I wasn't living in the city at the time and the show was on a Wednesday, so it was pretty much out of the question considering my work schedule.

I love APC as much as anyone, but putting out 2 actual albums and 1 cover album, then having the audacity to expect people to buy a "best of" collection pisses me the fuck off. The live DVD I can understand, but I can listen to the best of APC by just putting on both of their albums. But, that track is incredible.

Via PinchFunk: pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/18699-the-killers-direct-hits/Although I agree that a Greatest Hits album is kind of weird from a band with, well, limited hits. This is a fucking harsh review of a fucking album if I've ever read one. To top it off they give them a somewhat respectable 6.4 , further reinforcing my theory that their scale starts at 6. Anything less is worth negative points, and when they gave Kanye a 10.0 it was actually a 4.0 . Fuck it, I loved the Killers first two albums.

Not saying I agree with their rating system, but by your logic that means everything they've ever rated 10 is actually bad. There's some pretty outstanding albums (and reissues) that they've given 10, regardless of whether you like Kanye or not.

Most great albums get the reviews and subsequent numbers they deserve. However I often play the game, guess the pitchfork score, and I'm usually pretty close.

Fair enough. The problem with their system is that they make anything under ~7.5 seem like a disappointment. There's reviews where the album is praised with minimal criticism but then assigned a score of like 6.5-7.0. The 6.4 for the Killers compilation isn't a bad score, but Pitchfork makes it seem like it is.

For what it's worth, I really liked that review. That's probably the most thought anyone has ever put into a Killers review...

This is quite possibly the most disgusting thing you'll read in a long time. I remember obsessing over their debut album back in 2000, and his screams were ultimately the gateway to me starting to appreciate the more extreme side of vocal delivery in music. What a sick and fucking terrible human he turned out to be. gawker.com/rock-star-pleads-guilty-to-attempted-rape-of-a-baby-1472004561
