I think an amazing day would consist of a back to back line up of the Thermals, followed by YYY, then the Strokes, and then The White Stripes. It would be flippin sweet as we say here in Idaho.

Ok, settle down. I was wondering why the Thermals had never played Sasquatch. They are an established NW band who have been around for five years. I can't believe they have yet to play the fest. That was why I asked if they are too punk, followed by a question mark. Had I thought they were too punk to play Sasquatch 09, I would have said, "They are probably too punk to play this festival."

Mudhoney - New album and touring this Spring i was at the sub pop 20th anniversary thing last summer, and after seeing the kind of people that were rocking out to mudhoney, i really hope none of those types infest sasquatch.

Electronic/Dance music tend to draw a younger, less intelligent crowd, one thing that makes the Coachella board so unbearable. Couldn't disagree more (except about the Coachella board). If this was a serious concern, they could always make a 21+ or 18+ dance tent. Seemed to work at Pemberton. People often talk about how they like the diversity of music at Sasquatch (and music festivals in general). I certainly think dance music should at least be considered as an option for night time sets.

the thermals were scheduled for 2007 but cancelled so they could tour in Europe. I've had the pleasure of seeing them 3 times, 1 time at the side stage at Download Festival at the gorge, and they are amazing. I'm counting on them being at sasquatch for sure, along with blitzen trapper.

Because I would also love to see those two, among others.

Unfortunately, I can't back up those two predictions in any way- as much as I'd like to.

A couple local bands from Portland that might be able to fill out the Yeti stage: As for the dance tent, I do not think it will happen. If you want to catch electronic/dance music, you can at most of the other larger festivals. Electronic/Dance music tend to draw a younger, less intelligent crowd, one thing that makes the Coachella board so unbearable. Right........ Because that was a fair and intelligent statement.

You basically had to miss 2 - 4 bands on the other stages because you were stuck in line waiting to get into the dance tent and even then there was no guarantee that enough people would leave to allow you inside.

Yeah, after thinking about it, a dance tent at Sasquatch! wouldn't be all that necessary. Maybe if the venue could hold another 40,000. The gorge is more of an intimate setting and that's why Sasquatch! is so different compared to Coachella and Bonnaroo. You can get a great view of any artist you check out there. Plus, why have a tent obscuring your view of the Gorge, it's beautiful!!! All I'd really like to see is a line-up with a lot of variety, and well scheduled set-times.

Electronic/Dance music tend to draw a younger, less intelligent crowd My girlfriend, the one with the PhD that loves dance music, would be PISSED to read that.

Haha if you read my post here you will see that I clearly agree with you. sasquatchfest.proboards41.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=141At the same time, I think the Pemberton dance tent demonstrated that 19+ dance music lovers are equally, if not more, immature and unintelligent than their younger counterparts.

"We're also pleased to report in USA "Good Days Bad Days" is the most added track on AAA Radio this week, we'll be back in North America this Summer."
This is a quote from the Kaiser Chiefs who are NOT on the bill for Coachella or Bonnaroo. I think an appearance at Sasquatch is likely............ They played Coachella in 2007 and were awesome.

PhD really doesn't equal intelligent anymore, have you seen half the people with their PhD in education?? Haha, I wouldn't trust most of them to make change for 20 dollars. Many PhD programs are challenging but there are so many worthless liberal arts PhDs out there today, that you have to ask someone exactly what exactly they have their Doctorate in before you assume anything.

I don't quite think that's true. The amount of time and discipline required to obtain a PhD thins out the herd. Are there idiots with PhDs? Sure. There are also probably many geniuses with BAs or Associate Degrees or some who simply skipped college all to together. For the record, my girlfriend has a PhD in Paleopalynology. And she loves dance music.

It would be nice to see Flogging Molly make an appearance. Saul William would be a cool addition also, he is coming through the NW In March but him doing a collaboration with Trent Reznor would add something special to Sasquatch!.
