It's been about 9 months since I've flown but I've usually just had a regular carry on so I never thought about it. It's a smaller duffle bag and it's squishy so I'm going to risk it. If I check the bag, it's an extra 50 bucks to my trip, and that's a lot of money at the moment.
Thanks for the tip. I really really appreciate it.

If it's squishy and it's a smaller duffle, it's probably going to be within the size limit anyways so I wouldn't sweat it too much. It also depends what kind of plane you're on - if you're stuck on a CRJ or something you might be forced to gate check it (which is usually free) since the overhead bins are a lot smaller than most planes. Even if you have a regular sized carry on it's sometimes useful to board the plane first if you don't want to have it at your feet, since the overhead bins tend to fill up very fast on a lot of flights.

Unfortunately I didn't know the tip about sitting in the back when I picked my seat and I went for the front and now the seats are all taken. Now that I think about it, that was dumb of me not to have picked up on my own considering how often I flew last year. I'm just going to have to do what I always do and rely on the fact that I'm very small and young looking to let me get away with things.

Assuming you get the bag through security (which you probably will), about the worst thing that will likely happen is they'll gate check it, which is usually free.

barrelofthepen, I don't know if this helps beyond what everyone else has said, but I am a repeat offender of using this: Dimensions: 22" x 11½" x 11½" - 15" strap I always get through security with that puppy completely overstuffed AND an over-sized purse. I just smile at anyone who looks suspiciously at my balancing act with the bags and keep on walking. By the time I get to the plane, I am usually able to stuff it in the above compartment since its cloth. IF however, it doesn't fit, they'll check it for free down below, which is awesome because it doesn't cost me the unjustifiable $25 to check it when I check in to my flight. That's only happened once, though because the flight was overbooked.

Haha Smile and keep moving. Check.
Thanks. It's no longer the duffle bag that worries me, it's not packing enough that's replaced that one now.
Is it Sasquatch yet?

I'm most excited.... to bring one of my most favourite people ever to my favourite place ever, and see the look on his face as he crests the hill and looks out at the gorge for the first time. To spend 4 days soaking up music with other people that are just as excited about that as me. To party and hang out and make friends with all these crazy people. To Glowpocalypse! To get lost in the moment and forget all about work and everything else back home. And really, I'm just so excited that I get to do all this with my favourite person and show him this for his first time!

Kymess has got a boooooyfrieeeeend. Haha, actually my favourite person ever = the kid I basically raised for ten years as a nanny. I'm taking him down as a graduation present. We still hangout all the time and get along really well, and I'm very proud of the young man he's turned into. Last year, I had the pleasure of experiencing my first ever Sasquatch with his older brother, my other most favourite person.

I'm most looking forward to the feeling of absolute freedom I will experience in a crowd of people who I don't know, but love anyway. AND to watch people lose their mind on psychoactives.

"Excuse me, excuse me, excuse me... my friends are up there... excuse me, sorry, haha... whoa man, no need to be a dick, we're all just having fun, excuse me..."

"Excuse me, excuse me, excuse me... my friends are up there... excuse me, sorry, haha... whoa man, no need to be a dick, we're all just having fun, excuse me..." A few glares and well placed elbows temporarily solve that problem.
