[posting from camp]
Flaming Lips was phenomenal, I just wish Wayne would do less talking and more rocking. They could have had more time to play more songs other than the Soft Bulletin. They brought out Adam Zacks (introduced as Luke Skywalker) and brought out a Sasquatch cake made from Ace of Cakes. They already wheeled out the damn thing before Foo Fighters on Friday. Adam mentioned that when he created the idea of Sasquatch, he had Wayne in mind as the inspiration for Sasquatch. No idea where he got that, but didn't let that get in the way of a good story.

They planned on playing about 4 more songs. Due to time constraints they cut at least two off the setlist. After the last song they planned on doing a two song encore but everyone was quickly ushered off the stage. I attached a picture of the original setlist before the songs were crossed out. Gah, they didn't even get to finish playing the entire album. So I didn't get to see The Gash live .

Thats partly because they did this stupid shit where they brought a cake and a guy dressed up like Sasquatch and had us sing happy birthday.

Yeah...their set ended up just being a huge downer. It peaked at the start as far as energy goes and that all fizzled out by the end. I love the Soft Bulletin, but as a show it wasn't so great. It felt weird seeing all the confetti and shit shoot out at the end of feeling yourself disintegrate lol

A friend of mine, who is a big Flaming Lips fan, was really annoyed with the fact that they skipped The Gash. And I knew that a lot of people would be disappointed with the set after I heard that they skipped some of the tracks. Being my first Flaming Lips show, I really really enjoyed all the craziness and confetti during Race for the Prize and the set overall. I'd like to see them again though.

The Race for the Prize was amazing. I was so happy once that started.

I remember them throwing cake... I think.. Souly, I love that every post you've made today you're doubting the credibility of what you're saying xD And yes they did throw cake. Then someone yelled "The cake is a lie!"

I hyped this show so much to my friends and my neighbours and even though they all said they really liked it, I got the feeling they were just being nice. I still enjoyed it, but last time I saw them at a festival my mind was blown, this time is was just pretty cool, but nothing too special. Also choked they didnt play 'The Gash'. Wayne needs to stop being so anal when setting up and needs to talk less. I though Modest Mouse would be blown out of the water but it turned out the other way around. I laughed when Issac said "I'm not really good at talking to the crowd like they are 1 person so we're just going to play some songs. Not sure if that was a dig or not, because he has said that at previous shows too.
