My mom's is totally not traditional, there's chedder on the top haha. I have had it from a traditional restaurant, with a Guiness...unreal.

A good Shepard's Pie trick is drizzling the ground beef grease on the top of the potatoes after all is assembled to let it flavor and crisp up the the top layer in the oven. I made Shepard's pie a few weeks ago. It isn't as time consuming as I thought it would be. Its actually pretty easy! I don't mean to brag, but it was purdy good. I'm a sucker for some good Irish food. My ancestors know how to cook, man! I also make a mean apple pie and can spruce up some tasty pre-made cupcakes But I'll reserve my limited baking-bragging for the "shameless plug" thread.

oh, oh! Speaking of Sasquatch + food...for those of you who live near Seattle, have any of you been to Mick Kelly's in Burien? Stamps and I found this Irish Oasis on our last night before flying back home. Their food and beer are unREAL. If people are looking for things to do to kill time, I insist you go there. www.mickkellysirishpub.com/

Fun fact: technically, Sheperds Pie is made with lamb and if you make it with ground beef it is called Cottage Pie.

I saw this post before reading Stamper's post above it. Then I thought, oh, haha, drug reference. And then I saw that Cat had posted it, and I was like wait a minute, Cat doesn't like to eat drugs, why would she post stamps in this thread? And then I thought, EWWWWWW. And then I got it, and then I got to ride on an airplane and then my mom bought me an ice cream cone.

I think I read that somewhere. Good trivia!
I'll stick with eating Cottage Pie, though...something about eating lamb makes me feel guilty.

Stamps is so much easier to type than stamper. I mean, as far as stamps goes, its only 6 letters! Stamper is seven, and obviously much harder to type. Therefore, stamps. Also, HG, enjoyed your story about not getting it. I like telling those stories.

Speaking of things that are hard to type, at first typing 'Sasquatch' was a real doozy. Fingers have to go all over the place, including all the way over to like North Korea to hit that Q.
It has gotten infinitely easier since I started posting here, however. Practice makes perfect.

Nachos! We are having nachos for dinner.
chips cheese onion olives tomato avocado if there is a decent one at the store Tapatio on top after they are all melty
A good tip I learned is slightly toasting the chips beforehand to mitigate sogginess. Also if you mix a little bit of cheese in with the beans they are easier to work with.
