Pretty unlikely. Pemberton is a ~2.5 hour drive to the major airport in Vancouver with no traffic. There will be lots of traffic. I'm sure there are small or private airstrips nearby that could be used if the promoters flew them in on a private plane but that would require lots of extra money so it's probably still highly unlikely. Last year the airport was the parking lot, but they could probably figure something out. I've been wrong once or twice before, but I still say it isn't happening. Most back to back dates on that tour are less than a 6 hour drive. Just getting the bands (let alone gear) from Pemberton to Vegas is probably a 10 hour ordeal even if flights line up. What The Festival: June 19-22 (they've said the lineup will be out "soon" on Mar. 25) Tall Tree Festival (local music fest, apparently really fun): June 27-29 talltreemusicfestival.com/2014/lineup/ Pemberton: July 18-20 (lineup on Apr.7)CHBP: July 25-27 (lineup out "soon" on Mar. 27) Music Fest NW: Aug 16-17 and my fer-sures: Bumbershoot: Aug 30-Sept 1 (lineup on May 8) Rifflandia: Sept 11-14 With Music Fest's change to two days I think that's probably my most likely, but hey, I have these vacation days to play with now and who says I only have to do one?! Who's planning on doing what? What fun shit am I missing on this list? Stacey tried to talk me into Tall Tree and it sounded pretty cool. I'm giving it some consideration. Pemberton is a big ol '?' until I see a lineup. I also want to try and hit Rifflandia this year.

I'm feeling the sadsquatch-shaped gap in my musical summer pretty hard right now and so am trying to find stuff to fill it up with. So far my list of potentials is looking like this: What The Festival: June 19-22 (they've said the lineup will be out "soon" on Mar. 25) Tall Tree Festival (local music fest, apparently really fun): June 27-29 talltreemusicfestival.com/2014/lineup/Pemberton: July 18-20 (lineup on Apr.7) CHBP: July 25-27 (lineup out "soon" on Mar. I'm pretty sure I'll be doing Rifflandia this year (I mean, I've already called your couch, weenie!), and with Julysquatch all gone I'm now on the fence for either Pemberton (definitely line-up dependant decision) or Bumbershoot. That Tall Tree Fest looks interesting and has a good price.

Pemberton (if I find a jerb soon) CHBP (At least one day) Bumbershoot (all day, every day, forever) MFNW (If there is something I MUST see)

Haha that was awesome. Considering this is the author, I'd say he listens to a lot of Sunn 0))) in his darkened bedroom and doesn't log off the internet very often.

Yeah fuck that guy for having a hyperbolic opinion! We NEVER do that around here! But for serious, gather round while I tell you all why articles like this get written. See, websites make money from ads, which get seen a lot more if people view their site. The easiest way to get a bunch of views is if people share the hell out of an article. The easiest way to get shares on an article is to make it very polarizing and offensive. That way, people share it and express their disgust with the article. Look at this one just now. It probably got 15 clicks from Goldbeard posting that here. All we did was bitch about how the author is an asshat. Guess what? He doesn't give a fuck, he got exactly what he wanted by having you click his article. Did anyone here benefit from reading that? Are you a better person with an expanded world view? I'm guessing not, because that article was inflammatory for the sake of drawing a reaction. More and more my facebook newsfeed is full of articles saying stuff like black women with purple hair can't play golf or something. And then one of my friends disagrees with that, shares the article and 10 people have a circlejerk about how the author is stupid, and s/he laughs at home while the article racks up 2 million clicks. So what do we do? Stop sharing articles that piss you off. Unless you think the article will enlighten some of your friends to a different perspective, there is no need to share it. Reposting ignorant bullshit does not accomplish anything. It just gets everyone riled up and no one learns anything.

Does anyone (calling all Canadians) have any idea about Pemberton rumors or confirmations yet? From browsing a couple of sites, I found: Trailer Park Boys - www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2y82xtUmTsRich Aucoin - he played the launch party or something? ...and that's it. This interview with Pemberton's promoters published on 3/14 said: "Good rock, hip-hop, your legendary headliner…it’s a lineup that spans 30+ years of music. We tend not to hone too specifically into one demographic. There will also be a little bit of EDM and a lot of great stuff that works really well together. I feel like this generation, young and old, loves to skip around and enjoy good music no matter what the genre is. People are really trying to experience a lot of music. So I try to program with that as the root." Nothing very definitive there.
