Yeah, it's pretty funny though.
Interested in seeing what they actually come up with.

Wonder if this is real... Pemberton is going to announce in 9 days. It's as if I died and went to hell.

Wonder if this is real... Pemberton is going to announce in 9 days. I don't think it's real. Based solely on the fact that both Arctic Monkeys and CHVRCHES are in Europe during the festival.

And the fact that one of the bands is glaringly misspelled?

Kanye is all but confirmed for Outside Lands. Dude with a friend at APE, who spoiled all three headliners last year at this same time, just told us Kanye, Tom Petty, and The Killers. Arctic Monkeys and Lorde also pretty much in, and Spoon is confirmed. Shaping up pretty good.

Damn maybe it's a good thing I never convinced my friends to ditch Squamish for OSL. It's still way better than Squamish, but not nearly as good as previous years headliners.
Does Kanye realize he has to be done by 10?

I wonder if Pemberton will get the Nine Inch Nails / Soundgarden tour (or one of the two). The festival runs July 18-20. That tour starts in Nevada on the 19th, and there's a show in Colorado on the 20th. Admittedly, I know very little about Canadian geography, but I think they could conceivably show up. I know Nine Inch Nails came through the northwest in the fall, but Soundgarden hasn't announced a PNW show since the cancellation of the July weekend of Sasquatch. Nine Inch Nails played the only other Pemberton Festival. I can see this happening.

Pretty unlikely. Pemberton is a ~2.5 hour drive to the major airport in Vancouver with no traffic. There will be lots of traffic.
Tearing down any sort of stage show and getting it to Nevada in one day is all but impossible.

Pretty unlikely. Pemberton is a ~2.5 hour drive to the major airport in Vancouver with no traffic. There will be lots of traffic. I'm sure there are small or private airstrips nearby that could be used if the promoters flew them in on a private plane but that would require lots of extra money so it's probably still highly unlikely.

I'm feeling the sadsquatch-shaped gap in my musical summer pretty hard right now and so am trying to find stuff to fill it up with. So far my list of potentials is looking like this: What The Festival: June 19-22 (they've said the lineup will be out "soon" on Mar. 25) Tall Tree Festival (local music fest, apparently really fun): June 27-29 talltreemusicfestival.com/2014/lineup/Pemberton: July 18-20 (lineup on Apr.7) CHBP: July 25-27 (lineup out "soon" on Mar. 27) Music Fest NW: Aug 16-17 and my fer-sures: Bumbershoot: Aug 30-Sept 1 (lineup on May 8) Rifflandia: Sept 11-14 With Music Fest's change to two days I think that's probably my most likely, but hey, I have these vacation days to play with now and who says I only have to do one?! Who's planning on doing what? What fun shit am I missing on this list? My stupid awesome friends getting married on the weekend that Squamish, Shambala and Outside Lands is happening on is a bit more of a pisser now.

I didn't realize MFNW is in August. Wasn't it always after Bumbershoot in the past? Interesting.

Yeah, MFNW switched from a weeklong festival spread out over the city to a 2 day festival with 2 stages downtown on the waterfront. Ticket and lineup information are expected in the end of April.
Personally, I'm actually pretty excited for the change.
