Deafheaven - Sunbather Deafheaven - Roads To Judah Deafheaven - Demo
I can't believe they are actually going to play at Sasquatch. I think I am going to stand a little bit back during their set so I can people watch, too. I want to see the facial expressions on some of the people passing by.

I don't know if this has ever been documented but Stephen Malkmus is in my top 5 favorite musicians of all time. I am a huge sucker for that dude.

The National - Trouble Will Find Me
I really want to like these guys, but this album is just not doing it for me. I mean it's really pretty, but it's so damn sad. Next time I'm stoned and crying (which is more often than. I care to admit), I'll probably put it on and it will be just right. But sober and happy, I have a hard time getting through. I guess what I'm getting at is, should I bother with their older stuff or will it be more of the same? Any specific suggestions?

Alligator and Boxer are probably their 2 best albums so I'd listen to at least one of those. They're definitely one of those bands that don't click immediately and their albums practically define the term "grower." If nothing else, I'd get at least a little familiar with their discography even if it doesn't do much for you because their live show is on a whole nother level. I would go see them even if you're worried you might find them boring.

I'll second Boxer, that was my first National album and it took a while but now it's one of my favorites.

Thanks. I'm trying to get more familiar with their discography since everyone is so apeshit about their live show that I figured there must be something to them. I'm sure it will grow on me after a few listens. It's weird, it's like I listen to it and my brain knows it's good, but my soul just doesn't feel it. I'll definitely give those albums a few listens.

I went way back into my catalogue and I'm playing old Turkish March music.
It's pretty important stuff when you analyze the scope of where a lot of Western Music developed from.
Also how cool would it be if a Mehter played Sasquatch?
For those who don't know the Ottoman Turks were some of the first troops to actually march into battle accompanied by music and a rhythmic beat, flowing back and forth slowly, European armies and levies would shit their pants as the Yeni Ceri (Janissaries) slowly ebbed towards them until breaking into a final battle formation and charge.

Thanks for the recommendation on Boxer; I definitely liked it more than TWFM, but they are both growing on me still. I still haven't dug into Alligator yet, but I'm sure I'll burn through their discography a few times before Sasquatch.
