What's this band/album like? I see they're playing here in a couple weeks and only recognized 'em because you listen to them. Trying to decide if I should check them out. Yes YES yes YeS yesss and FUCK YES! They describe themselves as "live dance music" which is pretty darn accurate. It's two guys playing synths and drum machines and jumping around and making everyone want to shake their booties. Panda Bear is a big fan of theirs, which is how I discovered them. I believe they have played shows with Crystal Castles as well. I saw them play twice on the 7AM tour and they were absolutely fantastic both times. They're working on a new album right now, so I am very excited to see them play some new jams this time around. Go see 'em! Say Burrito sent you.

Warped Tour (I live right next to the venue).
I could barely hear anything earlier today, but it's loud now (maybe the wind changed?). The crowd noise is louder, I hear them screaming every 90 seconds. Those Warped dudes know how to work a crowd of high school kids.

It was so cramped that they had to remove a bunch of the merch tents. The venue had to have been about half the size as the Washington County Fairplex. It was all just one straight line down the side of the riverfront. A few of the stages were placed right next to eachother. It was the definition of a clusterfuck. Not to mention that it was about 95 degrees out. I eventually decided after seeing Streetlight Manifesto that the rest of the day wasn't worth it, so I just went home. And there were A LOT of Blood of the Dance Floor fans there. Seriously, worse than Juggalos.

How was Streetlight, and what time did they end up playing? I was considering going just for them, but figured the set would be too early and I would miss it.

Danny Brown - XXXDon't usually listen to much rap, but this is slayyyyin' me. Didn't really get into this record until I saw him a few months ago, it'd easily end up on my top ten of last year.

Their stage was right next to the main stage. Everyone cool was partying at Streetlight Manifesto's stage, and a massive group of pre teen emo kids were staring at an empty stage waiting for Of Mice & Men to start. Kids these days...

It's a really cool location, especially because it forces all of the drunks to ride the train there. I'm not surprised it sucked though, that is way too tiny of an area for Warped.
