Also, what is IDM? I know EDM but not IDM. The "I" stands for "too fast to count".

Intelligent Dance Music, which basically means it goes "bleep skhh tssss ahhh fshhh eeeee bloop" instead of boring old "bleep bloop bleep bloop." FESTIVAL BOT IS NOT BORING. BLEEP. BLOOP. BLEEP. BLOOP.

I've always been partial to Aphex Twin myself. Aphex Twin is amazing. I think Aphex Twin is more ambient, but has a varied style. Richard D. James has always shunned the label IDM, because it is kind of a commercial term, and kind of vague. Just like EDM, which is a generic term. Maybe they should start using UDM "Unintelligent Dance Music" for the derp.

Some of it is ambient electronic, but definitely not all.

I've been listening to Moby all day. I'm at work playing the entire Moby collection on Spotify. I forgot he throws in some hardcore tracks some times. The music is all chill then it gets crazy out of nowhere.

Passion Pit - Gossamer Animal Collective - Transverse Temporal Gyrus Animal Collective - 2011/07/15 Live @ Pitchfork Festival Excepter - OD Teengirl Fantasy - 7AM Actress - R.I.P. Thee Oh Sees - Carrion Crawler / The Dream
I have been listening to Gossamer every day for like a week now, sometimes twice. I did not enjoy either of their Sasquatch appearances or Manners, but I am just so impressed with this one. I usually don't like the synth-heavy pop tunes so much but goddamn do I dig this album, and find myself increasingly excited to see them play these songs at Bumbershoot with each listen. Here's to the dude's mental health and being able to tour this mothafucka.
Also, I heard sounds on 7AM through my headphones tonight that I had not previously heard when listening to it at 7AM.

Yow, how did Not Available treat you? That's one of their most difficult records, but it is also their best.

Yow, how did Not Available treat you? That's one of their most difficult records, but it is also their best. Wow, it is kind of hard to critique with one listen. The tracks kind of drift into some kind of madness, and I'm like what the fuck, then they draw me back in. Everything comes together in a great musical compostition. Ship's a'Going Down was a definite WTF, but it ended quite beautifully.

I've got the time to commit the crime.
