if you like Diamond Rings, you might like Christian Hanson & The Autistics. They're different, much more poppy, but Diamond Rings reminds me of them for some reason.

DMB - Lying in the Hands of God (If you have never heard this song then you are missing out on musical brilliance. Sorry that sounded pompous? I don't know if that's the correct word but I felt like using that word today. Listen deeply to this song though because its amazing. The lyrics are dark, the bass is just amazing, and Tim Reynolds has a little solo in there that will make your spine tingle.)
Andrew Bird- Measuring Cups

Ahh yes, I definitely hear the similarities! These guys sound really fun. Thanks for the recommendation. BTW, if you haven't seen Diamond Rings' music videos yet you need to check them out. This dude is totally over-the-top ridiculous.

all eternals deck seems ok on first listen but High Hawk Season may be the worst Mountain Goats song yet...

I think I'm over The Mountain Goats. I might check this album out but it isn't high on my priority list at all.
Ugh. I should just stay away from the board today. Last night was an awful night of insomnia and I'm massively irritable today.

It's a step above Life of the World to Come but not a big step. I don't like the path his songwriting has taken, but whatever -- I still have The Sunset Tree.

Wig In A Box: Songs from & Inspired by Hedwig and the Angry Inch
Playin' drums for a production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch (the reason I can't come to Sasquatch even if I had the money). I figure what better to prepare (since I haven't seen it yet) than listen to all the songs from the musical covered by my favorite bands.
Includes They Might Be Giants, Frank Black, The Breeders, Polyphonic Spree, Stephen Colbert, Spoon, Bob Mould, Yoko Ono w/ Yo La Tengo, Sleater-Kinney feat. Fred Schneider of the B52's 'n more. I'm only on track 5, but so far it's been pretty stellar.

^This is a fantastic album. The best of the songs being Rufus Wainwright's take on "Origin of Love", Sleater-Kinney's "Angry Inch" and Cyndi Lauper/Minus 5's "Midnight Radio".
A great accompaniment to the film.
