c'mon... just imagine a 25,000 person wet t-shirt contest. at least half of that is girls. and maybe a third of those are... semi-fine? don't quote me on those statistics, because semi-fine is a pretty subjective statement.

like 5,6,7 bucks in a lot of places. washington is on the more expensive side, like 7 or 8. i think they just passed a new tax that added like a dollar to each pack. I'm so glad I'm not addicted to cigarettes. I might go to the reservation near my town and pick up a few cartons to trade or something haha.

DO NOT jinx us. I am hoping for overcast(without rain) all three days. I'm not really a fan of the sun when it's beating down on you like crackas on a martin luther king rally (sorry if that simile offends anyone)

seriously... I second whoever said to not miss band of horses. When I caught them opening for beck, at bumbershoot, It completely rocked my socks off. They broke like a dozen beer bottles on each others heads, and I was front and chenter, and got a picture on the FRONT PAGE OF SEATTLEPI.COM!!! seriously one on the best days of my life. Another highlight: a smallish looking child (maybe 14) throwing a rather large wrench right into the crowd for no apparent reason.
my conflicts: temper trap vs. phantogram = phantogram full B.S.S. set vs. catching miike snow = miike snow. nada surf vs. vamp week + mmj = vamp week and mmj she and him vs. mountain goats = probably she and him to secure my place for B.O.H.

I have to agree with that 2008 day being the best, except for the day with the rodrigo y gabriela, flight of the conchords, flaming lips, etc. I stayed in the pit all the way from dyme def til the lips, and almost died because I decided not to bring any food or water.
I think 22 bands is a good estimate for me. 187 dollars + 50 for gas/camping(cheeap) + 25 souvenir + maybe 120 dollars on booze & ganja = 382 dollars/22=17.36 per show. Thats what i usually spend, and that's even trying to keep it to a minimum. but still a bargain..

When you have over a thousand artists worth of music, and don't feel that you have enough music. I think that's a pretty good indicator of a serious music addiction. I look forward to Sasquatch, like a little kid waiting for christmas. Every time I think about it, I just get more excited.

Its just collective behavior ya know. People just don't care, and they suffer as a result of it. I have found some amazing shit while looking a lot deeper into some artists, but other artists: like massive attack, I have heard very little but loved what I heard (mostly from a co-worker at pizza hut), but I haven't downloaded much from them, and am choosing to discover them more deeply seeing them face to face. Sometimes, when you've never heard a really amazing band before, and you discover them fully live, it will stick in your brain forever and just adds to the "awe" factor. So it works both ways, I guess...
