A week earlier than I expected... that's great news. And a dance tent? $20 says Girl Talk is going to be there. Girl Talk + tent = clusterfaaaaaaaaaaaack

I'd be seriously surprised if MMJ played Sasquatch. I think they are nearly the right size to headline, but I don't think it will happen this year since Jim James is taking time off to write and recover from his injury.
I'd be cool with Beck, puppets or no - really enjoyed his Austin City Limits set last year.

The suggestions I made are not unreasonable; they are pretty common message board "rules". Besides, I'm not a mod, so feel free to ignore me if you want.
Last year this place was dead, and I think it's great that people are actually signing in and discussing the 2009 fest. I think it bodes well for the vitality of the Sasquatch community.
However, it's nice to be able to check the board and easily find the information you need. If you want to speculate about the lineup, it's nice to have a place to do that. If you want to find out about acts that are confirmed, it's nice to have a place to do that. If you want to talk about camping conditions, it's nice to have a place to do that. But it doesn't help anyone if all that information is lumped into one big thread.

Here is a thought. If you want to SPECULATE about bands that MIGHT play Sasquatch, start a SPECULATION thread.
If you have legitimate CONFIRMATIONS that can be backed up WITH A LINK, not "my buddy's friend heard from his mechanic's veterinarian's girlfriend's cousin that Gwar is headlining" then by all means post them here, in the CONFIRMATIONS thread.
That way we can all find the information we need without having to wade through pages of off-topic chatter. Sound fair?

Ah, the only worthwhile thing to come out of the last few pages! Thanks, ccoult. Y'all, if you're going to post that an act has been "confirmed", be prepared to back it up WITH A LINK. Or we will have to call shenanigans. Thanks.

This board was a lot quieter in general last year, too. I for one am happy people are finally posting here!

Ben Folds might be doing the festies this year.

They're a mess live. Still, count on them to draw one of the largest crowds of the fest if they play.

If Tool plays Friday, I'll just show up Saturday. Not a big deal. ;D
I'd actually be into Jane's Addiction. And I think they'd be a good fit for Sasquatch. They're a heritage act, if you will.
Not sure if you guys heard, but Langerado fest got cancelled due to poor ticket sales. Some great bands in their lineup, but ultimately (IMO) it was too schizophrenic to attract a particular audience who are willing to travel to see a particular type of band...it lacked cohesion. I think if Sasquatch wants to beat the odds this year, they have to focus on their strengths - all those great Pacific Northwest bands.

Unlikely, I think. Why would they play the same market (Seattle, Vancouver) AND a festival in one weekend? Oversaturation much?
If they headline the 25th, I guess I could head home early. ;D

I got an email this morning from someone who was trying to book Grizzly Bear, and was told that it wouldn't be possible because Grizzly Bear would be at Sasquatch. Not an outside-verified, but I'd at least put this in the strong-likely category at least. Very cool. Hope that means we get some Department of Eagles too.

I suspect Sasquatch's headliners will be smaller than Coachella's, but better.
I hope so, anyway.
