A lot of people probably won't buy another ticket and drive back to the Gorge to see them play the same stage a couple months later. Sorry to burst your bubble, Goldbeard, but I don't think a band of Arcade Fire's stature would headline both a venue and a festival hosted at that venue within a two month time period. It doesn't make sense for the band because they'd be asking 20,000 people to drive out to central Washington after many of them would have just seen the band headline their favorite festival. I have my hope. Arcade Fire can easily sell out their own Gorge show after playing Sasquatch. At Bonnaroo in 2011, I swear there must have been 80,000 at Mainstage (to watch AF) and that was in Rural Tennessee. Arcade Fire isn't like most other artists at Sasquatch, since they earned their nut (Emmy) they're well known. I just don't see it at a drawback that they just played at a venue. If fuckin' Macklemore can put on 3 back to back shows in Downtown Seattle, Arcade Fire can do it over two months.

Thanks for my new signature though! Great quote. Little does he know I already trade marked Douche Canoe and it features Kanye and not Pea.

My basic philosophy on this is, Arcade Fire wants large venues for a special kind of tour. The hilariously mislabeled "Seattle Washington/Gorge Amphitheater" (seriously it says the show is in Seattle, good job CANADIANS, learn geography) is that they need venues that are large for their Reflektor style tour. If you look at their full schedule they don't list Primavera, Northside, Hurricane or Southside festival appearances on their Reflektor tour date flyer. They have gaps for Coachella, Sasquatch (both weekends), and Bonnaroo. Don't write them off quite yet. Edit: Full list of their released tour dates.

I can't say for certain but I'm pretty sure there are a few examples of how bands have come back to the Gorge after playing festivals at the Gorge.
My thoughts on this are they might play as part of a festival and then want their own Reflektor focused tour with specially designed stage/set where they can have their own zone to play with, whereas witb a festival they are part of a headline card. In this sense the festival isn't part of their "reflektor tour" but a stand alone show.
You follow what I'm saying?

I wouldn't count Arcade Fire out. I think they'll play Maysquatch. They have a gap in their schedule. For music festivals like Bonnaroo and Sasquatch there is a lot of marketing involved with the line up release. It generates ad revenue and endorsements as well as boosting sales. I pretty much feel that both Bonnaroo and Sasquatch will see Arcade Fire.

That long gap from May until July in Arcade Fire's tour pretty much confirms them for Bonnaroo and one Sasquatch.

Act 2 Scene IV Left of the Soundstage, Mainstage
Enter Boarders, stage right:
Gramma: Hark, night falls soon, the stars begin to light their fires.
Goldbeard: [Giggles uncontrollably staring off into space]
Nadine: The North'n merry band approach soon, we shall dance in the twilight, as if be the end tonight.
Burrito: [Takes a bite of a burrito]
Stormy & Souly: [in unison] We shall have Arcade Fire II: Boarder Boogaloo.
Weenie: [Swaggers around in a dancing manner]
Fig: I don'th desire to even ponder, what my heart my flutter if'n James Murphy joins the stage.
[Enter stage rear a merry Canadian Dancy Music Troop as the sun sets, the lights get brighter]
Arcade Fire: Here comes the night time! [and the band begins to play]

For the record other than Sigur Ros, Arcade Fire/MMJ at Bonnaroo have been the most powerful musical experiences of my life and I really can't wait to share my next Arcade Fire experience with you goofy nuts.
Prepare to get covered in my sweat and tears.
Prediction. Arcade Fire for July Squatch.
Edit: Yes I'm in love with Reflektor and my favorite song is Here Comes the Night Time. It's as if James Murphy and Haitian music impregnated my soul using Arcade Fire's frenetic energy and love of Haiti.

The newest upcoming show is going to be the Willis and Goldbeard Flaming Pumpkin Variety Hour and Daredevil-thon playing one night only. Be there or be 4 connected 90 degree angles.

I'm back on earth after Bumbershoot and I should say that I do recommend it in the future occassions.
Deerhunter is not a hunter of deer, but of minds and dance moves. They bring you in and suck up your mind fluids before blowing you away.
Comedy was really dark this year, I think I was freaking out when one comedian said he'd be the Joe Jackson of child pornography and was thankful for slavery.
Matt and Kim make you dance in your pants.
More reflections coming in the future.
