I thought Pavement were excellent. The setlist was as if someone went up to me before the show and said "Hey, what songs do you want Pavement to play?" Amazing setlist, and I thought they sounded great. I mean, Pavement sounded like Pavement, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Also, they had technical difficulties early and Malkmus asked if he could played a few more. They gave him the thumbs up, so that's why they went over. Massive Attack still played a full set, and it didn't take any time away from them.

I officially don't get the XX. They are ranked 7th, right above My Morning Jacket, Deadmau5, and the National. I can barely think of a place I'd least rather see them live than Sasquatch. There won't even be a place to take a nap with the huge crowd. Count me as one who will be avoiding that stage. I'll be checking out the main stage, wait, Tegan & Sara. Ok, I'll be checking out the Yeti, wait, end of Freelance Wales, 20 minute intermission, beginning of Vetiver. Ok, I'll be checking out the Rumpus then. Wait, My thoughts exactly. I really wish there was SOMETHING going on at either the yeti stage or the rumpus room. I mean, the only two groups that I actually hate on the festival are playing at the same time with nothing else going on simultaneously at the other stages (or stage and tent, I guess).

My friends and I have decided that we will definitely be seeing the following:
Saturday- Dawes, Brother Ali, Minus the Bear, Portugal. The Man, The Middle East (partial set), Patton Oswald, Broken Social Scene, The National The Hold Steady (partial set), Nada Surf, My Morning Jacket, Deadmau5 (12)
Sunday- Caribou, The Tallest Man on Earth, They Might Be Giants, City and Colour, LCD Soundsystem, Pavement, Public Enemy (partial set), Massive Attack (8)
Monday- The Heavy, Hannibal Buress, Phantogram, Quasi, Dr. Dog, The Mountain Goats, Band of Horses, The New Pornographers, Ween (9)
That makes 29, but there are a few time slots where we don't have anything planned. After Caribou on Sunday, we have over 90 minutes of free time, meaning that we will either check out Midlake or Martina Topley Bird, depending on how we feel at the time. We also have a chunk of free time between City and Colour and LCD Soundsystem, but all of us hate The XX and Tegan and Sara. We'll probably end up seeing Freelance Whales and Vetiver during that time, making it roughly 32 bands total.

According to the schedule page on the Sasquatch! site, the top 10 must see artists (or artists with the most attendees) are: 1) MGMT (1842 attendees) 2) Vampire Weekend (1807 attendees) 3) Band of Horses (1661 attendees) 4) Broken Social Scene (1648 attendees) 5) LCD Soundsystem (1592 attendees) 6) Passion Pit (1586 attendees) 7) The xx (1487 attendees) 8) My Morning Jacket (1471 attendees) 9) Deadmau5 (1430 attendees) 10) The National (1408 attendees) Some of these seem to be quite different than the top 10 lists of people on this board... Thoughts? Too many bros who don't hit up the message board? By the way, the next ten are: 11) She & Him (1372 attendees) 12) Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros (1304 attendees) 13) Massive Attack (1260 attendees) 14) Kid Cudi (1233 attendees) 15) Miike Snow (1189 attendees) 16) Mumford & Sons (1155 attendees) 17) Pavement (1067 attendees) 18) Tegan and Sara (1060 attendees) 19) Local Natives (1051 attendees) 20) Caribou (1029 attendees) Wow, I'm only going to be seeing 9 of the top 20 (Band of Horses, Broken Social Scene, LCD Soundsystem, My Morning Jacket, Deadmau5, The National, Massive Attack, Pavement, and Caribou), and neither of the top 2.

my top 10 has changed, so here's what it looks like now
1. Pavement 2. Brother Ali 3. Massive Attack 4. The National 5. Portugal. The Man 6. Band of Horses 7. Deadmau5 8. The Hold Steady (even though I'll only see a half hour of them) 9. Quasi 10. The Tallest Man on Earth
Public Enemy got the boot because I'm still debating whether it's worth trying to squeeze in part of their set between Pavement and Massive Attack, and there's no way I'll be seeing Dirty Projectors with Pavement playing at the same time. The Heavy, Cairbou, Phantogram, and LCD Soundsystem are also up there for me, and could be in the top 10 if I ever decide to reorganize this list.

For people who live in Seattle, The National and The Hold Steady will both be playing headlining shows sometime in the summer (too lazy to look up the dates ). The Hold Steady is about $20 cheaper than The National, so I'm likely going to see all of The National's set, head over the second stage to catch the latter half of The Hold Steady, and then see a full set of theirs later at the Showbox. The only other conflicts for me are Massive Attack/Public Enemy and Pavement/Dirty Projectors. Pavement wins over Dirty Projectors, but I'll try to catch at least a little of both PE and MA. Actually, I'm not missing any of MA, so I'll probably run to the second stage after Pavement and watch Public Enemy for as long as it takes Massive Attack to set up. I also have a time where 3 bands that I hate are playing simultaneously. I can't stand Tegan and Sara, The xx, or Freelance Whales, and none of my friends like those bands either, so it's going to be a toss up there. I'll probably give Freelance Whales the nod, since I've only been able to judge them through live youtube videos.

Edward Sharpe is playing from 4:50-4:50? (or so their artist page says) It's 4:05-4:50 all of the :05s are written as :50s for some reason

It will be more than that I'm sure. Headliners don't really have set end times other than the 2 AM noise curfew, so I'm guessing both Deadmau5 and Booka Shade will play until at least 12:15 or 12:30.
Also, the Sasquatch page is full of typos. Every :05 is written as :50, and there were a few others that I can't think of at the moment.

stamper beat me to it, but here's an excel document for anyone who wants it. there were a few typos on the sasquatch page for the schedule, all of which have been fixed here. also, the headlining times are all relative. just because my morning jacket is only scheduled for 90 minutes doesn't mean that they won't play a 2.5+ hour set. they wouldn't be the first headliner to go past their allotted time. Rank em, best hip hop acts on the lineup: 1. Public Enemy 2. Brother Ali 3. Kid Cudi 4. Why? 5. Wale 6. Shabazz Palaces 7. Fresh Espresso 1. Brother Ali (no way I'm missing him) 2. Public Enemy (definitely seeing unless The National is at the same time) 3. Why? (like them, but doubt I'll see them since the line-up is so stacked) 4. Shabazz Palaces (decent for a main stage opener, better than Blue Scholars and Dyme Def at least) 5. Kid Cudi (I'll only see him if there's really nothing else at the same time) 6. Fresh Espresso (good live from what I've heard, but I really dislike their music) 7. Wale (hate his music, so there's no way I'm seeing his set)

I'm a huge fan of hip-hop, and Brother Ali's set is my most anticipated of the festival next to Pavement. Public Enemy should also be great, even if Terminator X is no longer with them. Kid Cudi is meh to me. He has some good ideas, but I honestly don't think he's a very talented singer, rapper, or lyricist. Wale sucks imo. So does Fresh Espresso and most other Seattle hip-hop artists outside of Grayskul and Sadistik. I've listened to two Brother Ali albums three or four times, but with so much new music to get into, no one really has enough time to intently listen to each act initially. I spent 20 minutes staring into space concentrating on his lyrics this morning, and man, dude is insane. He is quickly moving towards the most highly anticipated act of the festival for me as well. Watcha' Got is the song that stood out to me after a few listens, so that might be a good song to start with for people who have never listened to him. humanequation would be a much better source for the goods though. Here are some Brother Ali videos that I recommend. He's the type of artist that puts so much passion into his music that you have to just immerse yourself in it. Anyone looking for background music should look elsewhere. And this is just the beginning. Everything this guy puts out is full of passion and pure talent. He has three studio albums- "Shadows on the Sun," "The Undisputed Truth," and "Us," all of which are outstanding.

that lineup would be incredible. Sigur Ros, Pearl Jam, TV on the Radio, My Morning Jacket, David Byrne, Tenacious D, The Decemberists, Jamie Lidell, Band of Horses, Lupe Fiasco, Fleet Foxes, K-Os, K'naan, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Iron & Wine, Animal Collective, Grizzly Bear, Rilo Kiley, The Mountain Goats, Dead Confederate, J. Tillman, Black Mountain, and Sun Kil Moon are all artists that I would love to see. Add The Hold Steady, Atmosphere, Explosions in the Sky, and God is an Astronaut, and this would be an absolute perfect lineup for me.
