i'm going with chillwave colors for the nail polish. cool robin's egg blues, and warm coral orange/pinks. then again, i don't really plan on chilling that much, so maybe i'll rethink it. that brings me to my next point, the same point Chaco made: bags-- the thought of lugging around tote sack again this year kind of makes me cringe, though I got this really sweet dakine backpack that would probably not put up too much of a fuss. What kind of bags do you ladies recommend?

(And I never ended up a crowd pleaser, so just no it's a dead end path dearest Cat.) And Spirulina, you have described why I have YET to go to Bonnaroo (from South Carolina, here) yet have been 2 Sasquatches now and will be practically passing through Bonnaroo lands to go to Pitchfork for the 3rd time. Yeah, Bonnaroo isn't worth it. I don't mean to make this thread about that in particular, but the only thing Bonnaroo has that could possibly stand up to Sasquatch is the variety of foods available in the venue. I got a pizza there and a magic hat #9 that saved my life.

Last name sounds familiar. i'm not actually from hazard, just the area-- but generally, there's a small pool of last names to choose from in the mountains, so there's a good chance I probably know some of your family (somehow!)

Don't camp incredibly close to a Honeybucket. Weird smells/sounds come out of those things late at night.

AHH! me too! I underprepared last year and so I had to wear cords and a thick north face jacket most of the time because it was literally the only two long-sleeved/pantsed things I brought last year. I'm packing some effing hot-hands too.

Seriously-- I went to both last year. I happened to win tickets to Bonnaroo last minute and it was really nothing at all like Sasquatch (aside from, you know, the whole "festival" thing.) Sasquatch is just free. That's the best way I can describe it. It's the free-est damn place in the entire universe. Bonnaroo, in contrast, is a bunch of strange mid-aged hippies and bros (not the Panda Bear kind) who are all kind of crowding in on you at all times. The camping is uncomfortable, too. Also, there's no real topographical difference from one end of Bonnaroo to the other, so you really don't get the whole breath-taking life-changing "Oh my god, there it is!" experience either. You know what I'm talking about. That feeling you get when you listen to "Return to Innocence" ? Like the sun god is blessing you with this beautiful liminal festival experience? Yeah. Doesn't happen at Bonnaroo.

I'm from way Eastern Kentucky (hello, Accent!) but I live actually closer to Nashville now-- on the Ky/Tn border. I'm actually about 200 miles from Bonnaroo-- but I love Sasquatch wayyy more.

sweet! those recipes look awesome. I am a serious foodie-- and one of those people who whipped out the propane grill last year for some early morning eggs and espresso, though I flew in too (all thanks to my Vancouver friends). I guess I'll just keep a stash of carrots in my backpack!

Kentucky! I didn't meet anyone from the south at Sasquatch last year, but I do have an interesting story in the thread I just started about ALMOST meeting someone from the south-- but not quite. Do you fly?

I guess this is a good place to put this thread.
What sort of food have you brought in the past that has proven to be great? What would you warn against? What are some of your best-kept campground gourmet secrets?
Last year, the good items were eggs, bagels, cream cheese, coffee, chips, bananas, and jarred salsa.
the bad items were guacamole, pico de gallo-- they turned after about 4 hours in the van. phew.
