Wire Of Montreal Jonathan Richman The Gutter Twins (Greg Dulli and Mark Lanegan) Jose Gonzales RZA (Bobby Digital) Mogwai Scott Kannberg aka Spiral Stairs No Age Deerhunter Dodos Drive By Truckers Extra Golden Miss Murgatroid and Petra Hayden Woodpigeon Beans Hot Little Rocket The Broken West Cave Singers Wet Secrets Pride Tiger Portastatic Headlights Ramblin' Ambassadors Bison Mother Mother Elizabeth Modern Man Luther Wright Whitsundays Elliot Brood Carolyn Mark I have to admit Quartermass that this line-up even compared to last years kick some serious asses! I enjoyed your approach to the previous posted message stating your reasons for acts that your looking forward to. Not just attacking the lack of knowledge of the bands that the previous person had stated. But I guess that's just expected from the board mediator. I didn't know about many of the non-local bands other than "Said"headliners: Mogwai, Of Montreal, Wire, RZA. Come on Wu-Tang-4-Life. That show will be amazing I still think there will be some major additions. I was at the press conference. And it seemed that they were really playing up Scott Kannenberg's envolvement as curator. He said he was going to book at least 3 or 4 shows just himself. So that makes me think that he drumed on Broken Social Scene presents Kevin Drew's 'Spirit If...' and of course he also played in 'Pavement' with Stephan Malkmus. So him and 'The Jicks' are a possibility as well. Also 'Peaches' is going to have her Art exibit displayed during the festival. So that might only make sense that she makes an appearance. Also I saw on the cover of 'The Calgary Sun' that Feist was looking to play a major Calgary Festival? So those are a couple possibilities.

Hey there Arctic Woman. There is a possibility that the van that I'm going down in may be able to give you a ride. Lethbridge way is sorta not the route of choice. But I'll talk to my driver seeing as I paid for her ticket. We'd be leaving the Frdiay morning and leaving the Gorge Tuesday morning. Oh and there is 4 of us so far. 1 male 3 females. I'm the male 27 and there is a 27 year old female a 19 year old and an 18 year old. Was kinda looking for some more Testosterone but oh well. Were driving in a Honda mid size van so lots of room. Gas should be about $200 bothways maybe a little more. Split 5 ways.

pony up for the Premier camping. I thought it was a WAY better experience than in the general clusterfuck. Where is the premiere camping in proximity to general camping area? In relation to the map. Cause I'm doing the "Premiere camping this year.(Yeah hot showers) but want to no if I have a different entrance to go to?

Been there the last three years and if your in the general camp area you can totally come and go. To get booze. Watch out with the whole sheba issue. Camp security is pretty strict. Saw a guy get kicked out Friday and taken away by the cops. Pretty sure he was selling.

Is Walla on the list along with Death Cab? Postal Service are unlikely, IMO. Nada Surf would early mainstage. I was figuring that Walla would play because of what "The Beasties" pulled last year with their sidestage show. Which I missed (yes I'm a dumbass) and justified to myself by saying i'd just see them on Sunday, which I did but still, I wish.... Was wondering why you'd say Postal Service is doubtful seeing as Ben Gibbard is there with DCFC already? Or did Jimmy Tamborello say that he wasn't doing it anymore? I think that its a possibility seeing as Chris Walla knows all the songs and seeing as "Rilo Kiley" is only playing Cochella so far they might sign up for Sasquatch and there would be a big old family of. Death Cab for Cutie, Rilo Kiley, Postal Service Jamboree.

Obviously the last 3 are wild cards. They seem plausible bands that could be added to the lineup?

I know there were strong rumors of MGMT being @ Sasquatch this year? Went down to SXSW and actually talked to the guys after a show. They said there booking agent already confirmed. So I'm not sure why its not on the website.

[ one of the twins lives in vancouver (the other in montreal). the album was produced by chris walla in portland im led to believe. definite PNW connection. I guess there last album was how bout their first 2? I agree that there is that connection. But take this for what its worth Bon Jovi have recorded 3 albums in Vancouver and Richie Sambora has a house there. Are they from the PNW or are they from Jersey?

Look how many will likely be on other stages (Walla? Blue Scholars? Tegan/Sara?). They usually run a 6-8 band local stage. Do we have 18-24 of those yet? If not, expect more. Tegan and Sarah are not local they are from Calgary. That's not Pacific NW. Its on the other side of the Rockies

Yeah I like the possibility of City&Colour being there? Was wondering a couple things. 1. Breeders closing a second stage possibly? 2. Tegan and Sarah definitly not Main Stage right? 3. Chris Walla putting on a solo show on small stage? 4. Postal Service? 5. Oh and where the heck is Harvey Danger or Nada Surf? I mean Harvey Danger didn't show last year except for a guest appearance during the Long Winters (Yawn!) and they releasd a disc last year. Also Nada Surf just released "Lucky" and its as solid as "This Weight is a Gift"? Are they in Europe? Both those bands could headline a side stage if ite 3 days. 6. Where's Tokyo Police Club? They're touring like mad men they'll have been to Calgary 5 times in the last year. And I'm pretty sure anyone who saw they're set last year that they put on a pretty energetic show. Albeit I believe the Mainstage was closed during their set due to the Winds, so they had more fans than expected. 7. Could we still see a solo Eddie Vedder Set? Probably not but? 8. Who's stocked to finally see M.I.A! I bet she puts on one of the best performances of the weekend cause she missed last year. 9. Do you think Sasquatch feels obligated to bring back bands that get shafted from previous years. I read that last year they called the Long Winters first because the first year they appeared @ the festival they got shut down half way through their set?? Wish I could source the quote?? And they also brought Neko Case Back cause of the hail storm. And this year Micheal Franti and Spearhead are back cause they got pooped to side stage because of Winds. Can't believe peeps actually skiped the Beasties to see this guy, when you can just see him this year but on a bigger stage. Plus if any of you on the message board have heard of "Shambala" a summer festival in BC. He plays there almost every year. Still doesn't answer the fact that Ozomaliti is at the 'Quatch for the 2nd year in a row. I get it, you play your instruments in the crowd. Fantastic! Still dissapointed that Weezer isn't in the line-up. And other than M.I.A there isn't much in the way of a Hip-Hop contingioncy? That I'm farmiliar with. I am stocked though that Ghostland Observatory is back. Anyone that missed them last year, don't make that same mistake twice.

Saw on "The Consequence Of Sound" message board that Weezer is rumored @ "Quatch" I know it's probably just someone throwing names cause Weezer.com has no new news on their upcoming album or touring?

So I saw on Radioheads website today that they have released the dates of eight shows in May that are mostly on the eastern seaboard and texas. That's all right and everything but it also gives about 10-15 more tentative locations for dates that they will do in August? What are they doing for the 2 and a half months in between. And for a band that says they want to be more carbon neutral, stopping a North American tour for that long to go overseas and then come back would be absured? Unless they plan to tour South America for almost a month and half?
