Here and all settled up in Austin. Initial thoughts? Lots of places to drink and lots of food trucks. I'm cool with the former.
Yeah, yeah, I realize I'm in the minority of those who aren't all gaga over food trucks. Oh well. They just don't do much for me. Deal with it.

Side note: How fucking OP are the Tyrells this season? Margaery and the Queen of Thorns are quickly becoming my favorite characters. Also I want more Varys/Queen of Thorns bickering please. Dame Diana Rigg is one of England's best actresses of ALL TIME.

Based on your previous spoiler, I don't know if the above posting is a book spoiler or tv show spoiler... USE BOOK TITLES FOR BOOK SPOILERS

I've never read the books, probably will never read the books, and I love watching the multiple stories unfold as much or even more than those who have read the books.
Game of Thrones thrives at finding the right balance for both audiences (those who have read the books and those who haven't).
Last night's episode had the tension of a finale. It was amazing. I can't believe we're just under halfway through the season.

3. Violent Femmes. Before their set I was talking to Stamps about them and he said he hoped they would play their entire first album and then American Music. That's exactly what they played (in 55 minutes), despite never having done a full album set before. FLAMING LIPS, TAKE NOTE.... During Violent Femmes, Stamper and I would look at each other at the beginning of each song and go, "holy shit, are they just going to play this whole album?" And then he said, "if you haven't noticed, we're just playing our whole first album. We've never done that before." Badass. Yeah, the Femmes coming out swinging with Blister in the Sun to kickstart their set was absolutely redonkulous. Definitely one of the top highlights from the entire weekend.

Seems to be a bit of a crapshoot from what I saw. We had 7 vehicles in our group and the first made it through in 2 hours and the last one was another 2 hours later. Our car had the most minimal search, all they took was 5 bottles of cider because they were glass and my sharpies. We had five 60oz bottles of booze scattered throughout the car and they didn't find any of them. They didn't even open my massive backpack. Meanwhile the guys next to us had their whole pickup torn appart and they found a pill bottle rolled up in a couple socks and a pipe hidden in someones toothbrush bag. We just tried to be as helpful as possible and they seemed to let us off pretty easy. I think Catherine and I had the easiest search of everyone. They spent like 3 minutes on us. No joke. They didn't look through anything - all I had to do was tell them what we had in each bag. Me - "That's our tent. That's the canopy. This cooler has our beer. This cooler has our food. The only thing in our suitcase is our grill and blankets. No drugz or bottles here." Them - "Okay. Move along."

Glad you guys made it back Stamper. Good seeing you two again. KY is definitely a rock star. My top 10: 1. PRYDZ 2. Hot Chip 3. WU-TAAAAAAANG. Da Rockwilder followed by Gravel Pit was rowdy as all hell. It was awesome. 4. FOALS 5. YYY's 6. Paul Kalkbrenner 7. Monsters and Men 8. Moby 9. Postal Service (way, way, way more energetic than I had expected. Really pumped to check them out again at Sasquatch)10. Pretty Lights Fun story: I was so white boy wasted on Saturday night, I had snuck into the Yuma to catch Richie Hawtin...danced my ass off and had an awesome time. Turns out, Richie Hawtin cancelled and I had no idea. I didn't find out until yesterday when I was talking about how great Richie Hawtin was. Embarassing. They totally exceeded my expectations.

Bernard only wears New Order shirts when he plays. It's like, you know, his thing. It's a stupid thing, to be sure. But whatever. It's just how he rolls.
I say, let Uncle Bernie do what he wants.
