Free show/fest that I help to organize at my school (Willamette University in Salem, OR) - it's free and open to all, so if you're in the area and not at coachella, come out and party! the date is saturday, April 21st.
the evening lineup is:
YACHT The Helio Sequence School of Seven Bells Craft Spells

Mumford & Sons are out. They'll be in the netherlands. Thank god. Thank god is right! They aren't bad but they need to come out with new music before I see them again. The question still remains, who will be sub-headlining this year? I'm pretty indifferent to their music but it's nice to know that the fest won't be wasting whatever excessive amount of money it must cost to book those guys.

I love Wooden Shjips and still haven't managed to see them play. I'm all for that suggestion their latest scheduled US date is Austin Psych fest on April 27th and then they're booked in Europe starting late June, so it's very feasible.

I'd love to see Wooden Shjips play an afternoonish set on the 2nd stage, like Black Mountain last year.

Black Moth Super Rainbow just announced some dates in May, 8th in Seattle, 9th in Portland, 11th in San Francisco and 12th in LA. So probably no Sasquatch, but who knows.v

it's crazy but somehow not surprising at all that people could get in multiple times for tickets when others are on hold for multiple hours with nothing

I'm resigned to the fact that there is no flipping way Sasquatch will even come close to Coachella this year so I'm over it. ...unless they bring Michael Jackson back from the dead. it could still be a very decent lineup, especially if some of the better suggestions get taken from this board. I'd be happy if the upper echelon acts are in the vein of Primus and Fleet Foxes. Queens of the Stone age would have been cool last year but if they get some heavier rock bands (including Primus) then I could see it happening. Bon Iver would be alright with me and I could definitely see him at squatch after coachella. I'm really hoping they pull out some stops and do something awesome, like blow a huge wad on Daft Punk or book Sleep as a surprise sort-of-reuinion band. I don't see any other festival, American or otherwise, being able to compare to coachella this year. The sooner people acknowledge that their expectations should be adjusted properly.

So, the morning after...how's everyone feeling? I for one am still unbelievably psyched. This lineup is insane. I didn't think sasquatch 10 or coachella 11 would be topped...but then they go and do something like this. Wow. This is going to be ridiculous. unbelievably excited over the lineup still, although anxious over the chance to get tickets. I can afford them but am envisioning a ridiculously short window of time in which I'd even have a chance at buying them.

seriously though, Refused is fucking awesome. I'm tempted to quit law school to go to coachella and see them do it. I'll easily ditch school for a few days to get down there and back. Refused, GSYBE... too much for me. I'm pretty sold on the lineup.

I was real glad to have forgone Chromeo for Black Mountain last year. No slight against dance music, but it just wasn't as fun as it should have been in the middle of the day.
Also, GRAILS. They're an awesome instrumental band from Portland and experiment across many genres. They had a new album out in 2011 that was awesome.
Master Musicians of Bukkake would be incredible although I highly doubt it on genre alone. But their live show is amazing, mesmeric almost.

Murder by Death is awesome but not at all that popular. Would love to see them at Sasquatch, I think the music would fit the vibe well and am honestly surprised they haven't been there yet.
Beat Connection and Champagne Champagne both played at my school recently, twas a good show. Got to talk to both bands throughout the night since I was doing sound. Good tunes all around. Reporter was also at that show and would be sweet.
+ Black Angels, Black Mountain, Black Moth Super Rainbow

Big Chocolate playing Warped Tour?? Wtf! I don't know how they do it but that festival continues to get worse year after year. Seriously. Last year there were a couple bands I was willing to sit through all the shit for. (Andrew W.K., Agent Orange, Reel Big Fish) but this year there's hardly anything I would really want to see. I'm still probably gonna go though just because all my friends go and it's still alot of fun quite a few bands just got added to the full summer schedule, check it out
