Am I the only one who has an awkward crush on Britt Daniel from Spoon?
I met when last year at Lolla while shuffling down the streets of Chicago and then saw him open for Arcade Fire in Atlanta two days later.
He was a pretty chill dude. Just wanted to put that out there.

Baggy-legged pants, socks & jackets/hoodies tied around your waist give more options for smuggling in your flask(s).
Some can wear sandals or flip-flops all day, but for my money, if there will be no showering I can't stand having dirty feet.
Sunscreen (I like neutrogena ultra-dry - it doesn't make you feel all greasy) is a must as there is pretty much no shade anywhere. Last year my black travel umbrella was invaluable.
We always bring in sandwiches and other snacks to avoid having to eat the over-priced food at the venue. There's no getting around the $9 silver bullets, though. Warm vodka & whiskey don't really wash down your special brownies as well as you might think.

The vodka goes really well with the large lemonade though...

Yeah, that it does. But why oh why did they have a slushy stand in 2009 only to take it away from us in 2010?

What a great thread! Glad to see it's not just the dudes who have the Internet. Just one. Dont call it 'Sas'. Abbreviations are dumb. But seriously, Yes to Leggings and layers! Nights are chilly - so be prepared. HA! So noted Dottie. No more "Sas" references. I heard that last year there seemed to be a fair amount of ladies wearing turtle costumes? Something of that nature? Is there some kind of "theme" dressing that goes on at the Gorge? And is it true that all shows shut down at 11pm? This is totally new for me... I've done the late night at Bonnaroo, and it was a-MAH-zing. So I dont know why closing down a camping fest so early is the standard here... And s0uLy - good for you going alone, you will meet so many new friends! AND Bonnaroo is fantastic. All festivals have their place, so Im not going to compare the merits of Sasquatch v. Bonnaroo, it'd be like comparing the proverbial apples and oranges. But I will say, that going to the Gorge first will likely prepare you on a smaller scale for what Bonnaroo offers. Bonnaroo is simply bigger and hotter. ...although I do know first hand that they have better beer for cheaper. ...and there's more food for cheaper. ...and the toilets are cleaner. ...and bands play until 4-5am. ...okay so I compared them.

If my bank account approves and I can find people to carpool with and the lineup tells me to, I may end up going to bonnaroo too. We'll see though. That'd be 4 festivals in one summer!

Heck YEAH lady! Well Im going to Roo too, so if you do indeed decide to come, let me know. I know about a jillion Inforoosters (yes, it's a corny name but I love it) who would love to help you out and I can direct you to all the carpooling threads on Inforoo so hopefully you can find a ride. And PS - 4 fests in one summer is something to be proud of! I'm only making it to 3 this year... well, maybe 4... Anyhow, I hope you can work it out!

I have had a thread in the carpool section of inforoo for awhile now, and no one has replied. I want people in my car, I don't like the idea of going in someone else's car. I just don't think there are many people from around here that choose the driving option. It's a 37 hour drive. But that's the only way for me!

Souly--37 hours?! That's an insane commitment. Total props. You and your ride should stop by Pittsburgh to pick me up

Despite being from the Carolinas, I'm usually pretty good at not being a chauvinist. So I should be okay, but yeah where ARE you coming from souly?
