Also, just in case anybody missed it: Didn't really feel like starting a new thread, and didn't really know where else to put this.

Kinda confused that Yeah Yeah Yeahs are so much higher than the FLips. I thought YYY's were on the height of their popularity 2 years ago at Sasquatch and they were subheadliners.

It also has Cypress Hill above The National. And Ben Harper listed solo (no innocent criminals, fistfuck of mercy, or relentless 7).
Looks like Kanye is going to be this years festival bitch a la kings of leon 2 years ago.

Still trying to figure out how Animal Collective is billed second on their day at Coachella, when they were fourth (I think) on their day at Sasquatch. MPP had been out for four months when they played Sasquatch, and everyone pretty much knew it was the best album of the year then, so why are they so much more expensive now than two years ago. That one EP didn't increase their popularity that much?
So I had to think of some off-the-wall theory to justify the billing. The lineup that day sucks. Wait, that would be too easy. How about this, they will close out the festival that night playing "Fireworks" choreographed to a large fireworks show.

That is really weird. You'd think Big Audio Dynamite (reforming after 13-15 years?) would be a way bigger deal. I mean, I don't know how well known they are in the states, but it's freaking Mick Jones.

BAD is not a big deal in the states. Probably even less of.a big deal in Chile.

Kinda reminds me of a more-techno less-comedic version of Reggie Watts

Wow, I had never heard of him before, but Beardyman is awesome. He would put on such a crazy dance party in our dance tent. Really hoping he makes it to Sasquatch!

Ok Peatrick, it seems like we are the only regulars (non-Coachella boarder transplants) attending this festival, so we'll need to share knowledge on the lineup. I'm relatively new to the Chemical Brothers, yet I know you are a superfan, so what's your favorite CB album?

I honestly like their newest album "Further" the most. It isn't full of bangers like their older stuff, but it flows so beautifully and is just an extremely enjoyable listen all the way through. They'll probably play a lot off that album since it just dropped so I would familiarize myself with that one first. After that I would check out Surrender and Dig Your Own Hole. Both are just as important as each other and has some of their greatest work on it. Here are a few tracks to get you started. One from each album: Swoon, from Further (3:06-3:21 might be my favorite 15 seconds of 2010 music) www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCKeVj0JDjUUnder the Influence, from Surrender www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8Q5j9kXT_oBlock Rockin Beats, from Dig Your Own Hole www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaU5qkQJ1e4These are by no means the best tracks on the albums, just good ones to begin with.

Hi, I'm not Peatrick, but I'd suggest "Come with Us" as far as albums go. Let us know what you think about listening to the Chems. I'm interested in a new comers point of view because unfortunately things can sound pretty dated. I liked "Surrender" the best, but last time I saw them live they really didn't touch it. I'll say this, while I really don't find myself listening to them anymore, their live show will be a total blast. Those guys know what they're doing and in a festival setting they kill.

I just realized that I haven't listened to a single second of "Come with Us."
YIKES. On it...

Consider it modified. Sorry, very embarrassing.
Pea you're not wrong at all to like FURTHER the best. The hits are the hits, but the albums in their entirety as you go back really start to feel like a time warp to a junior high outdoor rave with baby soothers, pink neon, and where everyone ends up sprawled on their back at the crack of dawn listening to "Blue Lines" as you philosophize the galaxies above.

I think you're right. With the older albums (don't even get me started on Exit Planet Dust) I can honestly only make it through a few tracks in a row before having to skip around. I'm sure the old hits will sound phenomenal live, but they really have a hard time translating and flowing on disc for me. "Further" is an incredible modern adaptation of some of their earlier stylings, and isn't anything like some of the junk they have put on the last 2 albums, so I'm hoping I'll enjoy hearing it live even more than I enjoy it on disc.
