You can't beat ships that turn you into jelly when you use them in their intended manner, haha. My dad told me about that when I was like, 9 or 10 and I thought that was the coolest thing I'd ever heard. Still kinda do, haha.

I mostly liked the idea of having my toilet on Pluto, living room on Jupiter, and bedroom on Mars. Also when I was a kid the Shrike was the epitome of badass.

That for sure. I've always hated how the cover art depicts him with 2 arms. Always really bugged me.

Right? I mean, it's explicitly stated that it's a four-armed being. Y U NO READ BOOK, COVER ARTISTS?!

It really taints the cover of Endymion, which otherwise is amazing. I would love a fatty poster of that cover (updated to add the arms, of course).

Drew! I must know if you've read A Memory of Light! Of course I have. Having had some time to reflect, these last three books have been shit, but the three before that were also shit but for other reasons. I read fourteen books because the first five were awesome and I had to know how it ended, and I finally found out. I was satisfied. But, Egwene I totally cried at that part.

Fuck. I'm only on The Dragon Reborn. So you're telling me that like 10 of these books are crap? They have their moments. First five are great, six is mostly great, seven and eight and pretty terrible except for a few scenes, nine is pretty good, ten is the worst of them all, eleven is so-so, twelve through fourteen are by the new guy. The new guy is a heavy handed plot stomping mormon, but he does the job. More happens in those last three than in the previous six combined.

Finally reading the Dark Tower after saying I was going to like a million months ago. It took me that long to get through the first fifty pages of the Gunslinger, and now I've read the next four novels in the past five days. MUST FIND OUT WHAT'S IN/AT/IS THE TOWER.

Haha yeah, that's how it goes. I failed to make it through the first 50 pages of The Gunslinger three times before I really dove into that shit. Once you make it to the Slow Mutants, though... GOODNIGHT.
It only gets crazier. Prepare to have your mind blown. The ending is legitimately perfect.

BBC + Peter Harness = This shit is going to be awesome
I love Jonathan Strange. Who would have imagined reading a new, great fairy-tale in the 21st century?

How does everyone feel about Hornby? I've read a couple of his books and feel pretty "meh" about them. High Fidelity was so frustrating. I wanted to like it so much more than I did. Overall, I'm not sure if Hornby's worth any more effort. Fever Pitch is on my Goodreads "to-read" shelf, but I might just skip it.
