The vocals may be a little extreme for some of you, but at least listen to the music and give it a chance.

I've seen them mentioned a few times in other threads. I'd be tickled pink if they were a late add to this year. I've been lucky enough to see them twice. The first time was in the basement bar of a smokehouse BBQ joint. Standing ground level two feet away from them with the smell of mesquite looming and a pint in my hand. Honestly one of the best times I've ever had. 2nd time I saw them was opening up for Gaslight Anthem in a university hall. Definitely not the same vibe, but awesome none the less. I wish I saw that show at The Palomino! What an amazing venue for a band like them. Saw them at Gaslight and when they opened for the Reverend Horton Heat at Desperado's or whatever that stampede bar was called at the time. They blew me away both times.

I think that should be a rule, it helps know who people are cause I don't even read the names of people I just look at the avatars

Yes, let's discourage reading as much as possible on the board. In fact, if everyone could go out of their way to use images or, better yet, smilies whenever possible, that would be great. FOR EXAMPLE, let's take a look at this post in smilies. , let's reading Post pix ;D ;D

'Greatest Generation, my ass. Tom Brokaw is a punk!' probably the best line of that whole movie.

I've been listening to a lot of Alt Nation on XM, and a song that comes up almost every time is Middle Class Rut - New Low. This prompted me to listen to almost everything they've put out to date. It's like if Perry Farrell was in Japandroids and they grew up listening to Foo Fighters and Smashing Pumpkins.
I know that description will likely be enough to make a few of you violently ill, but I fuckin' dig it.

The one Middle Class Rut song I've heard is a total Brand New ripoff. Will not be listening to any more of them.

do you remember which song it was?

Well, now that I'm listening to them side by side, calling it a ripoff is a FAR stretch, so I take that back. The vocals in the beginning are similar enough to bug me though.

yeah, New Low doesn't really represent them at all. At least not from what I've been listening to.
I also enjoy Brand New, so that could factor into things.

I love Brand New. I'll give MCR a few more tries with some other tunes
