Oregon has some of my favorite breweries, although I've never visited any of them. One of my favorites is Bridgeport. Their IPA is one of the best balanced I've ever had. For those like me who love IPAs it's not knock-your-socks-off hoppy, but I still recommend it. For those interested in the more hoppy varieties try their Hop Czar. You hit it out of the park as far as a well-balanced IPA goes. I think that's the first thought that came to my mind when I first tried that one. Fairly priced 6 packs too!

I'll swear by Rogue. Dead Guy is a staple, but their Brutal Bitter is fucking delicious too. They have just dozens of different beers, and I never get tired of trying some crazy new shit like their Juniper Ale, which - yup - tastes like juniper but it's so damn tasty. Have you tried their "Santa's Private Reserve?" Pretty good seasonal if I may say so myself.

isn't Big Sky out in Montana? thoughts? Yeah, also excellent. They're probably the most well-known brewery out here, and they have some great beers, but they're pretty conventional as well. The smaller breweries do some unique brews.

This is a pet peeve of mine, and I know it was probably just an honest slip, but you reminded me of this comic that I thought I'd share with the board: theoatmeal.com/comics/literallyAnd just so I keep things on topic: theoatmeal.com/comics/beer

I read this listening to the Go! Team's new album, and it was a perfect soundtrack, somehow. I loved the Frank Zappa quote.

i'm breaking in the new year at Atlanta Brewing Company's brewery. They're hosting a big NYE party complete with all their beers on tap. Only 25 bucks for a night of drinking like 9 different types of beer.
They just won silver at the Carolina Championship of Beer competition for their Double Chocolate Oatmeal Porter.
If any of you ever get down to Atlanta, check that place out.

Oh man I love that we have this thread. Lagunitas: Fine beer, went to their headquarters a while ago for a brewery tour due to begin at 2:00, arrived at 2:05, was told it hadn't begun and to have a seat at the bar and that they'd announce it before it began... Long story short, I'm pretty bitter about it because we never got to go on the tour. It was good beer, but not so radically special that I feel uncomfortable about intentionally spending my money on local breweries that won't screw you if you try to go on a tour. Rogue: I recently discovered that there's a Rogue Alehouse in San Francisco and JUST ABOUT SHIT MY PANTS. I had the Santa's Private Reserve and loved it. Stone: Definitely one of my favorite brewery tours, especially because the guide had such a good attitude. He took down the beer snob mentality with a nice anecdote and served me Stone beer, so I was a happy fucking camper. Currently drinking Flying Dog's IPA. Picture: I'm going to Portland next week, where I plan to go on brewery tours a plenty. Totally fucking amped. BEEEER

I meant literally in the clouds. As in his feet are not grounded on planet earth. As in Whoopsie lives in his own real life fantasyland, located somewhere literally in the clouds. But that was then... Smokey, this isn't Cloud City. This is Sasquatch. There are rules. Or at least that's what the kind folks at the Gorge would have us believe.

Chocolate + Oatmeal + Beer = WIN on so many levels. 3 to be exact. I made an oatmeal stout for the holidays, and it is delicious if I do say so myself. Just gotta get some chocolate flavor in there next time and I'd have the trifecta. Someone earlier mentioned a chocolate porter. If you're into these types of beer and are ever in BC you have to try the double chocolate porter made by Phillips. It tastes like a milkshake, and I can only ever have one but oh man is it good!

Thanks for all talk here guys, picked up some Rogue (Dead man's Ale and a bunch of the Junipers) and some Lagunitas (I believe it's called A Little Wild or something, picture of a pin up looking girl on the bottle). The Oregon brews traveled a long long way from home to my excellent import Liquor store. Can't wait to wrap the day up and sink into a week long break, so until then I'll premtively raise a bottle to y'all on the Sasquatch Board and wish you a Happy Holiday. I will also be sure to hit you up with some recomendation from my area that can hopefully be found in the PNW.
