Has anyone here seen Swans before? Sled Island announced some of the single shows and on the same night Iceage and Swans are playing at the same time but at separate venues. I've heard that Swans is one of the greatest live bands ever, but from the You Tube footage their shows look incredibly long and repetitive. The Seer was a great album though.
Iceage look pretty fucking amazing live as well and You're Nothing is a great album.
My other shitty conflict is Jon Spencer Blues Explosion vs Superchunk!!!
Thoughts on any of the above?

I see the dates and locations on the website but are the specific times listed too? I have the same problem as you, but personally I think that I'll have to go with Swans and Superchunk.

No times yet but I am assuming that they are all headlining the bars they're playing, so all will be on between 12:00am and 2:00am.
I'm leaning toward Superchunk I think as well.

This is tough to answer. Swans is one of the best live experiences of my life but the emphasis is on experience. I wore earplugs and it was still one of the loudest shows I've been to. Ice Age are going to be around for a while but Swans may never tour again, certainly not with this sound. I think it'd be a huge mistake to miss Swans but I can't guarantee you'll love it. I can promise it will be something you remember.

I have no huge interest either way....so I'll probably do Swans. Or maybe UMO. Not sure. Definitely Superchunk Thursday.
I'm worried how the weekend shows are going to play out. Hopefully I'll be able to catch Explosions in the Sky, Joel Plaskett and Thee Oh Sees on Friday...but that's gonna be a lot of running around. Better get a bike!

I think I am leaning towards Swans now. Cbats nailed it when he said that Iceage will be around for awhile. I do enjoy the experience of a good (and LOUD) show. The same thing can be said for Jon Spencer vs Superchunk. Jon may tour again, but I think that Superchunk's run is coming to an end. Plus I think that Superchunk will be a fun and exciting show.
Womp, Explosions in the Sky will be probably be done around 11pm, but both Joel Plaskett and Thee Oh Sees will more than likely play at the same time (after midnight). Joel Plaskett rolls through town a couple of times a year so I don't think you'll be in danger of never seeing him again. Plus, Thee Oh Sees put on a stellar show that shouldn't be missed.

Did any of those Good To Die shows workout with your schedule? I tried to get work off to go to Sled Island but it just didn’t work out. One of these years...

I just found out that Secret Chiefs 3 played at the Crocodile in Seattle last night, and are doing so again tonight. How did I miss half of this?!?!
Seriously, this like, never happens.

I don't think any board regulars stay in Boise anymore, but this would be great to take advantage of if you could benefit from it.

woah. Woah. WOAH.
Just saw MGMT for the first time in my life.
Woah...
go see mgmt. They won't play Kids. You won't know half of their new stuff, but it's a goddamn rock show.

MGMT played 'Kids' when I saw them. Not that I expect someone who was talking about the 'liquidity of the market' in defense of scalpers to be correct about anything.
