Apparently there's a Juan MacLean DJ set happening on Wednesday at Barboza? Not sure if I'll make it but if my current plans fall through I'll probably try to go.

Hmm...interesting that he is skipping Boise between that Portland and Reno show. There is definitely a venue there now which would fit this tour (Revolution Concert House).

I'm just going to post one more Moderat song because I love them so deal with it. This song is very dissimilar to the other one I posted and shows the opposite end of their spectrum. They definitely still get down with some weird ass Modeselektor beats. Dudes I finally got around to listening/watching those two videos- most excellent! I'm excited. Any suggestions for where I should start in their discography?

Honestly the only stuff I am familiar with is off of Monkeytown. And all the Bjork/Radiohead/Thom Yorke remixes and collabortations. When Thom Yorke joined them on stage last year at Coachella I was freakin' out. It made going the 2nd weekend with the 107 degree heat worth it.

Well they have a limited discography, so it's an easy choice. As far as I know, they've released two albums and nothing else. I am an enormously huge fan of the first album, which is self titled. The two songs I posted came off of there. The second album is yet to be released but has been leaked. It's a little more chill and downtempo than the first album, but it's slowly growing on me and I'll keep listening to it to see what I end up thinking about it. It's definitely in the 7-9 range on the 10 scale.

Looks like I'll be missing Weird Al, sadly. I'll be in Seattle that night seeing Trash Talk and Nacho Picasso though.

Looks like I'll be missing Weird Al for the 5th or so consecutive year because I completely forgot about that show, again.
You comin' over to hang or what, homie? Goes for McCoochney as well.

Hoooooooly fuck. Why have I never listened to them before!?! I'm SO going to this show. That song is totally wild. I hope their live show is as high energy as your standard Modeselektor show, because that would be utterly fantastic. I just realized that I forgot to reply with recommendations about Modeselektor albums. I mostly know songs and singles by them, I only have the full album of Monkeytown so I can't be much help there. That is a solid album though! Modeselektor are definitely one of those artists who can get a little too weird on record for me, but their live shows are insane and impossible to have a bad time at.

Calling it now. The psychologist lady is the killer, and she likes to manipulate her previous patients before killing them herself. Only because Dexter's writing is so bad am I even thinking of this terrible ending.

I would not attend that show.
Nor will I be attending McCoochney at Safeco or that other show, unfortunately. Souly can only afford to pay for me to see Pooch once a year.

Only because Dexter's writing is so bad am I even thinking of this terrible ending. Right? Obviously. I'll give Dexter just this -- they've managed to legitimately surprise me in, like, 80% of their season finales. But if that British snatch isn't the Big Bad this season, I'll eat a bowl of my own shit.
