You should have held a picture of that dinosaur in front of your face. No one can lie to that thing.

So yeah at the Decemberist's signing today I asked Colin if they were playing Sasquatch and he just smiled and said "I don't know, we'll see". AKA BIG FAT YES. Thanks for the heads up geno, you little stud you!

I kind of just discovered their music today by giving The King Is Dead a listen. A friend of mine at work always trashed talked them so I never really gave them a chance. Glad I did! I hope they can make it.

"I like the feel of the burn of the audience's eyes on me when I’m whispering all my darkest secrets into the microphone." This is the greatest post ever.

I'm pretty sure Iron and Wine is a sure thing based on the current tour schedule. This is a good thing because I have been wanting to see them since the Sub Pop 20th Festival. Does anyone know if Sam Beam tours with a band because when I saw him he was solo. He was wasted off his ass and kept messing up, it was great.

They are not a sure thing.
Only if the touring schedule looks like this:
VANCOUVER - MAY 27 PORTLAND - MAY 29
can you say that it's a "sure thing." But thank you for at least putting this in the right thread.

This is the greatest post ever. I think it's hilarious that a guy with all of twelve posts is making this declaration.

Yeah, I can see your point. I am basing this off of the fact that they haven't played in Seattle in a long time and they don't have any PNW dates on the current tour. Plus the tour includes European dates so they aren't going to Europe after their last date at the end of April. This leaves them open in May to come to the PNW to do Sasquatch. I'm trying here.

I know. There are plenty of reasons to think that it's possible, and perhaps even likely. But not a sure thing. I have made declarations of that sort in the past based on similar information ("THE BLACK KEYS ARE DEFINITELY PLAYING THIS YEAR" "MORRISSEY HEADLINES A DAY OR I BUY EVERYONE'S TICKETS" "STARS ARE PLAYING OR I'M GOING VEGAN FOR A MONTH") only to find myself looking silly and, obviously, wrong. Just tone back the language of certainty.

I saw him at Vera the year after and he was solo there too. I'm not sure if you listened to his new album but the band is more than likely to be there. I can't imagine playing any of those new songs solo The bad part is that a lot of his old songs with the band doesn't sound as great.

I saw Iron & Wine at Sasquatch in '06, but if memory serves there were six Sam Beams onstage - just like there were six of everyone else I could see. One for each hit of acid in my head.
Which also means I got six times as much hail dumped on me about ninety minutes later.

My last clear memory before the nuclear devastation that followed was of Neko Case screaming and running for cover.
