you do need some sort of ticket( either day pass or 4 day pass) to get in camping though right? people cant just come camp? or camp and try to buy tickets outside of the stage gate? i know last year people were selling day tickets all up and down the walkway to the entrance. stupid friends didnt get tickets. this seemed to sell out fast for this lineup.

Yes. In order to camp you must have a camping pass, and in order to have a camping pass you must have a festival ticket. This is what they are saying, anyway. What it tells me, though, is that if you show up with out a ticket you are taking a risk. I'll also say that, if you don't have a ticket, you have better odds showing up with a car full of people who do have tickets than ones that don't. For anyone interested in taking advantage of the normal "buy a ticket near the entrance" thing, I think that phenomenon will be drastically reduced this year by the introduction of wristbands. It will still exist but it will be different.

Maybe someone already said this, but here is what I think. There will be different areas of the campsite, each with different sizes. Say you roll up with 5 people in your group, you get assigned to a campsite that is made for 5 people. If you roll up by yourself, than you get a tiny porter-potty size plot. Does that make sense? Honestly I can't see it being done any other way.

Up to you to fit yourself to your spot.

They would need 3 to 4 times as many people directing traffic to different sections of the campground in order to make that a reality. Even if they did try this, they would have veteran Quatchers parking their cars where ever the hell they feel like anyway.

Guys, there are no camping spots. There is fileds that they rent from the local farmers. It is one big area. When you show up, there will be security guards that will direct you to the next open spot. When you pull up they will try to put you as close to the next guy as you will let them. That is how they pack people in. Have you ever been to a sporting event where they stack park you? It is kind of like that.

The arrival guide is missing an important tidbit. If you have a ticket for one day and carpool there on with people who have 4-day passes, do you get to camp all weekend? Do you have to carry that piece of paper with you the whole time to enter and exit the campsite? And what happens if you got scammed with a duplicate pass from some scammer? Selling fake passes for almost $500 bucks doesn't seem like much of a leap if you are already a scalper and if you take the advise of the people on this board and buy tix on craigslist YOU HAVE ZERO OPTIONS. at least stubhub gaurantees your tickets will be authentic

Maybe they'll have staff checking for wrist bands on every person who attempts to enter the campground at night. Otherwise, have your friends drop you off near the first parking lot, meet them inside, and then walk to their tent at night. But we don't know because this is a new feature. Second inquiries: You are screwed.

It's true that this is the only actual way to keep illegitimate campers out of Gorge camping, but I just cannot see this happening. Not with the number of campers vs the number of staff they usually have. Not only would they have to check wristbands, but they'd also have to check the actual tickets of those who just have day passes. This would involve people actually holding on to their tickets, which I know I always plan to do (souvenirs) but it just does not always happen. If they enforced the rules they would be kicking out a lot of innocents, and that would just be awful. Otherwise, have your friends drop you off near the first parking lot, meet them inside, and then walk to their tent at night. But we don't know because this is a new feature. At the very least this should work.

Second inquiries: You are screwed. Oh yeah, and this is also true. I'd say, "that's why you don't buy from scalpers," but it sounds like it's too late for other options.
