We were SO disappointed by the food options at the Gorge. We expected the food to be ridiculously expensive but not to have such few options and for it to be such poor quality. Having been to Coachella, where the variety and quality of food is really good, Sasquatch was pretty disappointing. The organizers should do something about this next year.

haha. oh peatrick. however, i was glad they had the little stands out in the campground. they were still pretty expensive, but i feel they were cheaper than in the festival itself. the philly cheesesteak i had monday night was rather delicious.

Honestly, if you think this year was bad, you should have seen last year.
This year was an improvement, if you can believe it.

If you had perused the board beforehand you would have noticed that the food is commonly referred to as feces. feces on a stick, deep fried feces, feces noodles, etc. next time do yourself a favour and bring tons of good food with you. this year i managed to only eat food i brought with me, and saved some serious dough.

I actually purchased a hamburger just to experience how bad the food actually was. It was bad... really bad but I'm glad I did it! It made me happy knowing that I didn't waste a shit ton of money on shitty food. PB&J, mini cucumbers and beef jerky was my dinner for three days. Tasty!!!

perhaps the stuff that's supposedly so bad isn't something I tried this year. I had a yakisoba bowl and an elephant ear, and they were both pretty tasty.

ahahahahah. yeah I bought chicken strips and a hot dog. fuck it, if I'm drunk enough I'll buy pretty much anything for almost any price. I pretty much starved my balls off the entire weekend.

the guys in the Penske truck who drove up from Florida and were selling Gyros and Breakfast Burritos in the campground made a killing. They were unlicensed and didn't even get shut down. $7 a pop and it was the tastiest food I had all weekend.
the philly cheesesteak was pretty decent, the brisket nachos were tasty but a bad decision, there was a ceasar chicken wrap I had at one point which wasn't bad.
in the end, you're at a concert festival and you know you're either going to be eating food you bring in or overpriced sub-par food at the venue. No point complaining about it.
I do think more choices would have been nice, but I was more upset about the lack of assorted other vendors hawking their wares like I've seen at other festivals. Hats, art, other clothing, sponsored booths, etc.
Usually there is a mainstreet market at these types of things where people can blow their money on stuff other than concert tees and CDs.

Don't know if anyone else stopped by, but I was camping right behind (and made friends with) these guys from Portland that used all local foods from Portland to make omelettes every morning for donation in order to promote local agriculture. Not only was it a great cause but the omelettes were fucking great (they were simple, only egg and cheese, but delicious nonetheless). Hopefully a lot of people here got to take advantage of that. They said they'd probably be back next year too. Look for a big red balloon and you'll probably find 'em.

I totally would have, but I never did wander past them.
on another note, it was a nice touch to have the local high school teams working at some of the booths and selling water/rockstar/etc around the festival site.

Chicken fingers are always great, but they would probably be terrible if you didnt notice the BBQ in the ketchup bottle.
I would love it if they had more options and another area for food, maybe by the dance tent or something just to spread out the congestion.
The only real problem I had was that on monday I had to go to 3 stands to get coke for my ziplocked JD. First one was out of cups and the second one ran out of syrup or something.

1/2 a cookie was the only mistake I made and it kinda messed up my Sunday. I ate a lot of food I just brought in, and drank whatever didn't get confiscated. That and the fact that I was too messed up to get drunk Sunday from the aforementioned funky dessert, and it probably saved me about $100-200. I did have the yakisoba noodles twice; and got bad gas from them twice. I guessed I learned my lesson the first time

I may have just been baked/drunk/big fat mess, but I actually didn't mind the food, I had a couple of those yakisoba rice bowls and I did find them that bad. On the other hand I do remember having what "they" called a Gyro(early in the day pre-weed cookies/9 beers), and that was fucking terrible. I would of complained, but I'm a total pussy.

As for the terrible food, I don't know what made it better than last year. It's the same food they have every year, and at every Gorge event. Adam Zacks has some tasty recipes on his private blog, so I know he has good taste in food. It is simply not his call what gets served there.
