Alberta, like the Canadian bible belt that it is, pays families to go ice skating and swim with polar bears one work day a year.

Well it's not just Alberta. It is also Saskatchewan, Ontario and BC next year. Also Manitoba celebrates Louis Riel day and PEI has Islander day on the same day. But your description of what is expected to be accomplished on family day was accurate.

The fact that the sign is held up directly over the head of the guy behind him makes it even better.

Technically this was yesterday, but I was out at a bar for their 10th anniversary party. This bar isn't known for having good music, but they actually hired a decent local DJ last night which was smile-worthy in and of itself.
Then he spun an old Chemical Brothers tune and I completely flashed back to watching Don't Think with the other Calgary boardies.
I'm one of those people that forms pretty strong associations between music and events, and I pretty easily flash back to the past when I hear certain songs, so this wasn't all that surprising, but the intensity of this particular incident was pretty surprising to me. The people I was standing with said I just completely zoned out for about a minute.
Holy crap was that movie ever awesome. I'm still discovering just how awesome.
