Hi! Welcome to the Sasquatch Message Board. The first thing you should know is that I have no authority here at all, so everything in this post is just polite advice and not a set of rules. You don't have to adhere to these suggestions -- but if you don't, I (and a couple of other posters) will point out how much you suck.
1.) So, you just visited Pitchfork/Myspace/ConsequenceofSound and you saw some suggestive tour dates indicating a likely Sasquatch appearance. GREAT! Before you rush to the Rumors thread to make a post about it, please catch up on the most recent few pages first. Some of us (me) rarely pay attention in our classes and spend most of the day (and too many nights, sadly) reading music blogs. It is therefore almost guaranteed that anything you've seen, we've seen -- and have posted about, and discussed, and said "Yeah I hope he's there" and "No dude he sucks" and so on.
2.) As you can see, there aren't many active threads in the Lineup/Artists forum. We have a Rumors thread, a Confirmations thread, a Headliners thread, a Wishlists thread, and a handful of others relating to specific bands or other festivals. I politely urge you to take note of which thread you intend to post in. Do not say "I really want Pearl Jam to play Sasquatch!" in the Confirmations thread. Do not say "I hope MGMT comes this year!" in the Rumors thread. Do not say "Yo I saw this sweet band on the Yeti stage last year, maybe they'll come back?" in the Headliners thread. I ask this because the more on-topic we keep these threads, the easier it is for YOU -- the Sasquatch Festival fan -- to keep track on information relating to your favorite Memorial Day weekend plans!
3.) Your fake poster accounts aren't funny. If you want to be entertaining, consider registering an account in the name of Wayne Coyne, using a picture of Mr. Coyne as your avatar. Then, post as if you were Wayne Coyne! Be clever, though. THAT is how you become a funny fake poster! Writing inane, homophobic gibberish isn't funny. It isn't even all that annoying -- it's just sad.
4.) If you want to use this thread to introduce yourself, GO FOR IT! We don't seem to have a thread for this yet and it seems like it might be appropriate.
Once again, WELCOME! We're all here because we love Sasquatch and want to talk about it like good-natured fanatics. Keep the threads on-topic, don't repeat information, and we'll have the best damned Festival Board on the Internet!
And remember: I have no authority, only an inability to use my time productively.
