JAPANDROIDSBIO (Wikipedia) Japandroids are a Canadian rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia, consisting of Brian King (guitar, vocals) and David Prowse (drums, vocals). Formed in 2006, the band rose to prominence following the release of their debut album Post-Nothing (2009). Their second album, Celebration Rock (2012), was released to widespread critical acclaim, with Rolling Stone listing it as one of "The 10 Coolest Summer Albums of All Time", and Spin naming them 2012's Band of the Year. Japandroids toured heavily in support of both albums, gaining notoriety for their live performances and extensive international concert tours. Between 2009 and 2013, the band performed approximately 500 shows in 44 countries. Similar Artists: Titus Andronicus, The Hold Steady, The Replacements, Beach Slang, Cloud Nothings.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I have been following Japandroids since their inception and no matter where I see them play (club with 50 people at 1am or early afternoon at the Yeti Stage), they have never disappointed me and have left me wanting more. Even though I just saw them this past fall I am still excited to see them on the lineup, and barring any unforeseen circumstances (extreme conflicts) I will be front and center.

My least favorite part of Japandroids is that they broke away from their album artwork template on their latest album

“Younger Us” is still one of the greatest songs ever written.

One of my favourite Sasquatch memories was when Japandroids played the Yeti (Maybe in 2010?) and some guy was rocking out so hard that his pants fell down...and he didn't give a fuck. Just kept on rocking. That's a testament to how good this band is!

I'll never forget the first time they played Sasquatch. Their gear was either lost or stolen in transport and they arrived at the Gorge pretty bummed and not really sure if their set was going to happen. They managed to borrow somebody else's equipment and took the stage to a surprisingly large crowd for the Yeti. To this day I think it was probably in the top 5 biggest daytime Yeti crowds I've ever seen, and Japandroids was absolutely blown away by the size and enthusiasm of the fans. I had seen them only a year earlier (2009) at Capitol Hill Block Party where they played to about 15 people, so they were definitely still at the point where they were surprised to see a big turnout for their set. You could see their bad moods melt right off them and they ended up putting on one of the best sets of the weekend.

Japandroids pants-off dance-off flashmob confirmed. Rimjobs optional but encouraged.

For the uninitiated, here are the two different Japandroids singalong options:
OOOOUUUUHHHHHH (whooaaaa ohhh ohhhh ohhh oh)
and:
oh oh oh OH! oh ohhhhh oh oh oh WHOA! oh ohhhhh
